help: memory loss

hi, all recently i noticed that my memory is not as good as before. sometimes during conversation or outings, i couldn't recall a name, a thing which i used to be familiar with. this happened in more than one occation. for example, last weekend, i stopped by Barnes & Noble to have a read, it reminds me of another major retailing bookstore i used to check out, but for a while, i couldn't recall the name 'Borders'. later on, it came to me like a flash, but this bothers me - how i could...

BONE HEALTH
Posted on 05-12-2005 | 2 Comments

When most people think of bones, what comes to mind are the lifeless, dead bones of skeletons. But, bone is actually a dynamic, living tissue. Healthy bones are dependent on an intricate interplay of many nutritional and hormonal factors. In the human body, there is a constant process of breaking down and remaking of bones. When the rate of bone breakdown exceeds that of bone manufacture it can result in a condition known as "osteoporosis." Literally, the word osteoporosis means "porous

the zone diet

I'm about halfway through this book. What Barry Sears says sounds intriguing. I'm wondering if his diet is as powerful as he claims. I'm not soo sure about jumping head first into a diet without knowing its long term effects. I've googled for it a little but couldn't find much. One unfavorable article saying it really did nothing for your heart and that carbs weren't as "evil" as Dr Sears was claiming. Another saying that it was an ok diet but that it was too complicated for most people and...

gaining weight from eating a pound of candy
Posted on 01-02-2005 | 9 Comments

Is it possible for a person who eats one pound of pure fat (while eating nothing else all day) to gain any more than one pound in weight? I remember in high school physics mater can't be created or destroyed it can only change shape. so to me it seems logical to conclude that one pound of fat eaten will result in a max of one pound of weight gained.

What Is This Disease I Have?
Posted on 12-09-2004 | 2 Comments

I'm male age 55, white, slightly overweight. I have intestinal gas, bloating, slightly low iron and red blood count. My doctor tested me for blood in stool, ran tube up my butt. Says I do not have any cancer. I am often a bit tired. My patience level for doing tedious chores, nowadays, is very low. I can tell that -with age and chronic disease of some sort- my personality is undergoing a change. I no longer have the patience to suffer fools, bothersome kids, tedious chores, etc.

Suggestions for losing weight
Posted on 11-07-2004 | 3 Comments

I am trying to lose weight. Do you know of any QUALITY Palm OS PDA software that will assist in this process? I once ran into a nice program that ran fine and dany on my VIIx, but that was a month or two ago and I lost the website. This particular package worked well on the Palm, but the developers suggested purchasing their PC counterpart for updating food lists and so forth. I have a Mac and their desktop software does not run on the Mac. The Nurse recommended a website...

help gaining weight
Posted on 08-15-2004 | 3 Comments

Hello. I'm new here. I'm a female, about 5'5" and I am underweight (probably about under 100 pounds, I'm too scared to find out). I'm very concerned about this. A little bit of my background: I have been having problems with anxiety and depression. Sometimes this makes me lose my appetite and it could be the reason why it's hard to gain weight. I'm not taking medications. I try to eat 3 meals a day, I don't eat much, it's not my thing. I go for 40 minute walks 6 days a week, and get aerobic...

Tea tree oil for Itchy, flaky scalp?
Posted on 07-10-2004 | 5 Comments

I have tried head & shoulders, selsun blue, maximum strength coal tar shampoo, and nizoral, but none work. The coal tar and nizoral maybe worked a little bit for awhile then stopped working. Apple cider vinegar worked well for awhile, but had to be used pretty often and can still be smelled the next day. Now, even it doesn't work that well and has to be used every day. I've heard to add some tea tree oil to your regular shampoo. I need to know how much to add. Does anyone know?

Consumer Reports agrees with Steve Bayt:"Atkins Death Sentence"
Posted on 07-10-2004 | 9 Comments

STEVE BAYT (Parma/Brook Park,Ohio) This week's attempt to save millions more people who will die on Atkins Low Carb Death Sentence isn't done. But, here is a sneak preview quote of Consumer Report June 2002 page 30. I have claimed Atkins will create a Atkins Related Death Syndrome (ARDS) which will make AIDS seem like a warm-up act to ARDS.

Carbohydrates are Great Atkins and Senate Bill 722 Lethal

Steve Bayt (Parma/Brook Park, Ohio) The last year or so of low carb marketing shows how easy it is to brainwash the American public into believing anything. The Atkins/ Low Carb approach is the worst diet ever and has serious health risks. Carbohydrates are necessary for basic functions of life.
