help with amatuer diet
Posted by b

hi,

i'm posting in the hope of receiving some insights into this weird diet i'm
on ...

my goals are:
improving eating habits
losing weight

and i'm willing to try anything for the next month, i just don't want to
gain back any weight or old habits when that month is up

so i've been eating primarily:
hummus
wheat pita
eggs
spinach
water
oranges, bananas, strawberries, grapes
black beans

and have had, very sparingly:
cheese
meat
orange juice
milk
almonds, peanuts
wheat bread

and i plan to eat a lot more:
lemons
blueberries
some kind of other beans
whatever you people suggest that doesn't sound insane

so, obviously, i'm asking if the diet above sounds insane ... am i missing
out on some nutrient/amino acid/fiber/vitamin? i've been on the diet a week
and have not noticed anything except what seems like weight loss (my scales
are all broken, but i think i look thinner)...but i don't know how i would
"notice" anything anyway; am i doing a good thing for my body, cutting out
coffee, chips, soda, cold cuts, pizza, etc?

i know almost nothing about nutrition, but i've heard a lot of stories about
diets that exclude something important and end up ruining someone's health

and i really am willing to do whatever it takes to get the results i want,
but i'm eating radically less than i do normally (no hunger pains) so am
worried that if i lose weight on this health kick after a month, if i grab a
slice of pizza or have a beer, my metabolism will push "storage mode" and
i'll gain weight back

(help with breaking the diet would be appreciated, i'm saying)

finally, is there any "too much" for the things on my diet? can anyone ever
eat too much spinach, hummus, or eggs? i realize that might be a bit
subjective, but on the whole, if i get hungry and eat 2 cans of beans for
lunch, is that going to make my plan lopsided?

if it helps at all, i'm a 23 year old male and i exercise sporadically (run
3 miles a week, do some situps/pushups ... nothing major, not training or
doing anything other than trying to get/stay fit)

oh - one last thing - i made a sample of the lemonade diet and i really
loved it (lemon juice, water, maple syrup and hot pepper) ... i can't
imagine drinking gallons of that being the same as eating balanced meals,
but i would try that if it is safe and effective .... but my question about
it would be just whether or not i could use that lemonade drink as a
supplement, if that would help appetite/cleansing/nutrition or anything

thanks so much!

You MUST consider JUICING fruits and vegetables to take out the
strenuous process of digestion!

It will make a bigger difference, faster.

My partner and I have been on the Forever Living Products Aloe Vera
detox and weight management programme for about 5 days now. So far
we've each lost around 5lbs - it's a 9 day programme in total so we're
hoping to lose even more. We're not very overweight really, but someone
who is larger should see even better results I imagine.

The great thing is that once you get past the first couple of days (the
hardest!) you don't actually feel that hungry due to the Garcinia Plus
supplements that suppress the appetite naturally, plus you can start to
have a 600 calorie meal on day 3, such as jacket potato with low fat
cheese topping and salad, which is really filling us up - previously we
would have had a dessert as well. The vanilla protein shakes taste
great too and give you that full feeling.

We're hoping to do the Lifestyle 30 afterwards to keep the momentum
going!

We got ours from this site: http://www.aloe2go.com/products.php5?cat=9
who were very good - there are quite a few other sites selling the same
product but they're all the same price anyway.

Good luck everyone.
G.
