When I saw this come through the first time as a response post
pushing a product (without a question post to go with it) my "Spammer
Alarm" went off too, but instead of screaming at a drive-by spammer
(that doesn't read the groups, just shits and runs) I clicked right
past and went on with my day.
There are hundreds of deliberate spams sent every day on Usenet and
E-mail that use the exact same "Re: Hey Arnold: Remember that widget
we were discussing?" dodge to take on an air of legitimacy.
If you are responding to a person in one group, don't multi-post it
(especially out of context), or it /becomes/ spam as far as the other
groups are concerned.
