Does failure to get the 15k and 30k
inspections void the dealer warranty? Oil
and filter replacement will be performed at
3500 mile intervals.

No, but don't take anybody's word for it. Read the warranty booklet. Part
of the service at certain intervals requires inspecting certain items and
more maintenance work than just oil and filter changes. It's all spelled
out in the book. If you neglect these requirements on your part, don't
expect Toyota (not the dealer) to decline to pay for warranty repairs on
only those items affected by your inaction. If you don't get the
inspections and other work done, and nothing fails, no problem. If you
never check the differential oil level, for example, and a seal leaks and
the gears fail, you might get the repairs paid for and you might not.

You don't need to have the dealer do the required work. Any auto repair
shop can do the work; be sure to get a detailed receipt that lists all the
work. Doing it yourself is more problematical...even good recordkeeping
might be tough to qualify for the warranty work--a lot depends on how badly
the dealership needs the work in his shop.

Why change the oil at 3500?...it's good to 5000 unless you get the lowest
quality oil and have very severe driving...extremely dusty, or many short,
cold trips, etc.
