Sequoia transmission, an issue?
Posted by harry

My 04 Sequoia has 49K so far, it runs great until yesterday, it jumped twice
very noticeably at low gear.
The weather was pretty wet, I am not sure if that is related.

This SUV had 15K and 30K schedule maintenance except for 45K.
I am wondering if I should take it seriously. Should I flush the
transmission, drop the pan or something?
About 40% of mileage are on highway and I never towed or carried anything
heavy.

Any clue/suggestion?

Blackstone and many other testing labs can test your ATF for about
$20. That may save you the cost of an expensive flush if the ATF is
still good, and may show some serious wear metals if the
transmission is failing.

If the fluid is done for, I'd clean the transmission with
Auto-Rx and then completely flush and
refill with the ATF required for your transmission. If your rig
uses Toyota's WS fluid, refill with only that.
