1993 4x4 - Brake Dash Light
Posted on 01-05-2007 | 6 Comments

I had that same thing happen in my 93 toyota pickup and I also couldnt figure it out. I just left it alone and it ended up going out on its own. My grandap said that sometime there is a light that comes on like that at a certine millage just so you check your brakes. He had that happen in a little Nissan car one time.

Cigarette lighter doesn't work on a '97 SR-5 4-Runner
Posted on 01-04-2007 | 9 Comments

Gordon, I don't see where you said in any of the posts that you had actually checked for voltage inside the lighter socket with a test light or volt meter; is the power to it dead? The reason I ask is that I damaged the lighter in my Tacoma by plugging some other device into it. All it needed though was to reach inside and bend the prongs that contact the lighter back into position, it was really just a mechanical problem and not electrical. Just a thought, good luck. Jim D

brakes groan when coming to a stop

I've got rear disc. I'll have to get the compressor out and try to blow all of the dust...etc out then use some brake parts cleaner. I'm not sure how to tell if I've got a glaze on the rotor or not, but if I do, is it possible to lightly sand the rotor surface? blah wrote:

Once it unsticks, it's good to go for a while. It is the cheapest fix and probably will fix your problem.

Observer article 9/March/1997 Fame at last! In an alleged book review in the Observer (Books p16), Jay Rayner writes about a "man called Bob" (one of my many pseudonyms) in whom "a lot of people have shown an interest". Read and ponder! Perhaps the Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times" could be re-worded into "may you be considered an interesting person". Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me! 1367

.net magazine article March/1998 Britain's .net Magazine featured my website on page 17 of their March 1998 issue (number 42). They quote from the "FAQ" pages, and also include some details of the evidence I have tried to present on my website. The age of some of the material on the website shows in this review, which says the case "has been discussed in uk.* newsgroups during the past year". At this time (March 1998) it has been discussed on uk.misc for three years, and there are still...

There should be a connection in the diagnostic to make the fuel pump run. Before that, check to see that the flapper on top of air filter is moving - this controls when the pump runs after it starts. Good luck. Ed

Tailpipe Fuel Drips
Posted on 12-29-2006 | 1 Comments

When the engine is cold, it is common for water vapor to condense inside the tail pipe, and drip out. You should notice other cars in the morning that are still cold and are blowing out a very light vapor of white steam. The drips you are asking about are condensed vapors. It's the same thing. It is normal.
