Are you driving on the Daytime Running Lights? That would make night visibility very poor. You can also upgrade the light bulbs to a better bulb. I really like the Silver Star bubls that come from Sylvania. This is a very easy upgrade to do. Take your bulbs out ande see what the number is, I expect it to be 9007, but whatever they are doesn't matter. Get the number, then go to WalMart and match the number, then search the display for the same number, but with

The 2.7 liter engine has been around long enough that it is also readily available.

PCV Valve Replacement 1982 22R

Chas wrote: #1: Make sure you have a new grommet on hand before you start! I had the same problem on my '88 22R. I finally used a hacksaw blade and cut the grommet (I cut it parallel to the valve cover). I was then able to use a small pair of wire cutters to break the grommet in half and remove the PCV valve. I managed to fish out one part of the old grommet, but the other half is still in there (two years later) and hasn't caused any problems.

1992 4runner Preventive Maintenance

Be certain that the transmission is NOT overfilled in the slightest. My 1993 4Runner had overheating problems and it largely boiled down (no pun intended) to too much t-fluid. A known problem with these tranny's. On long drives, in any temp, the excess t-fluid will aspirate with air which will prevent an otherwise steady flow of t- fluid... which causes heat, which causes more aspiration, which causes more heat... then your tran temp light comes one... and if you do not get off the gas asap...
