I had the same symptoms and did the same things you did when my '82 Toyota Pickup would overheat, then suddenly cool down when driving it. My fix was to finally have the radiator rodded out and pressure checked. Then it worked fine. "Joel" <Joel@cyberbest.com> wrote in message news:gHq3d.194$zy2.55@fe25.usenetserver.com...

I lay the gasket in place and then I put the pan in place and tighten all the bolts to about 5 - 10 lb-ft of torque. I *DON'T* fill up the thing with oil for several hours or even overnight. I think this truly is the secret to not having a leak. (btw- I make sure both mating surfaces are scraped and cleaned...

So I have been doing tear-down maintenance on parts that are now easy to get at. After looking at the grimy looking parts under the hood, I couldn't help myself, I've been cleaning and painting certain select covers and engine accessories. I'll post pics of the engine when I'm done. I've also been reading through Roger's site quite...

It takes some more wiring up, and you need a new fused power lead run through (or under) the car to the battery to feed the trailer lights - but it almost 100% guarantees that no matter what goes wrong with the trailer lights, you can't damage the car wiring.

Just took the plunge myself on a new 2004 white double cab 4x4. Ah that new car smell.....sweet. I traded in my 2000 PreRunner with 12,800mi. (I don't drive much). The double cab Tacoma is what I wanted originally in 2000, but they weren't available just yet. So I compromised, and planned to pay it off ASAP, then get exactly what I wanted. Then came the 2005 model change....so I patiently waited for months to see what the new design was going to bring. #1. Mid-size (no more compact truck)...
