http://www.peakantifreeze.com/ Says it's "Formulated for use in all American, Asian and European automobiles". You might want to give them a call and find out. I personally wouldn't mix them and would use distilled water with OEM coolant. I wouldn't even mix different brands of oils even of the same weight.

Gates catalog mentioned a 90K miles interval. Previous years spec a 60K interval for severe service. http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=2256&location_id=3487&go=SearchGatesPopular Change out all the belts, oil seals, water pump and pulleys while in there. gaus1 wrote:

- Posted on 08-24-2005 | 1 Comments
Well, since no one knows about the history of 4Runners I did some research and found out that Toyota didn't put factory alarm systems in their 4Runners until 1996. My system was put in by a used car dealer. Since NOONE knew that apparently, now you know.
- Should fan clutch turn, 93 22r ?
- Posted on 08-24-2005 | 1 Comments
Yes it should turn. It should also have more resistance to turning as it heats up. The real test is can you stop it from turning when it's hot and running? - be careful. I suspect your fan clutch is ok. Did you get the stock OEM thermostat from Toyota? Did the radiator shop perform a "flow test"? - Highlander Rain Water in Door?
- Posted on 08-24-2005 | 1 Comments
I have noticed water exiting from the drain holes plugs when I open the doors after I wash my 2001 Highlander. This I believe is caused by the slop of the driveway on which the car is parked. If you have a steep driveway, water may not be finding its way to the drain holes until you are on level ground. The Duke

I thought I read somewhere here it should not turn whike not running. It feels tighter than the old one but will turn, thanks again. -- byrdog ------------------------------------------------------------------------

weber carb and header probably 2 inch exhaust diameter is sufficient if free flowing.Probably a 38 outlaw weber carb and be prepared to fiddle with jets.Msd ignition and your stock pickup coil in the distributor sure doesnt hurt for crispness (6A) keep High tension wires away from pickup coil wires, use a ford TFI coil.Could put an 20-r head on the earlier blocks, but dont know if you can run reg.gas.Mild cleaning and matching of ports.Stock cam is pretty good for pulling.Better yet just pop a...

- Posted on 08-23-2005 | 1 Comments
THe steering wheel not centered is TOE OUT for alignment. Align and this will be corrected. as Far as the stereo not working ofr a few bucks at a Wally world you can have a new one. If the price is good BUY IT. I just bought a 90 4 Runner for 1500, I then put 1800 into it now shes a great truck, I still need to fix some rust issues but that can wait until cooler weather. BTW, I spent 218 on the new stereo for mine. Searcher1

Seems like it is more consistent. I understand that it may be a code for the transmission. Any ideas? I checked the fluid level and it was high, could that be it? I was going to take it in, but the problem it intermittent and hard to diagnose.
- What is it and why is it leaking oil?
- Posted on 08-22-2005 | 3 Comments
Assuming it's the V6 you have and you know it's not the oil filter leaking. It could be the oil cooler. The dipwad could have tried to remove it thinking it was the oil filter and screwed it up. On Fri, 19 Aug 2005 21:23:22 -0700, Larry Talkington wrote:

I think you can remove it by just pulling off the front a/c air cover to get access. If not, then you will need to remove the bottom plastic part of the dash. It's not hard and should take you about 15 minutes. On Sun, 21 Aug 2005 11:50:47 -0700, James Andrus wrote:

Based on a friend's 05 Tundra, the stock door speakers look like 6 or 6.5 inch, with tweeters mounted high on the front doors. Any speaker will sound better with more amplification. You should be able to drive at least 25 ***clean*** watts per channel through each of the stock speakers. That's not much. To do the job right, you'll want to replace the lower speakers. You might do...

For what it's worth: Chilton manual shows both the front diff (Land Cruiser only, not PU's) and rear diff (Land Cruiser, PU, Tacoma, T100) as jacking points. I have used the rear diff as a jacking point a few times and it hasn't broken. The mechanic who changed my clutch used the rear diff as a jacking point.

You are the full of good news! ;-) We clearly over salt the roads here. If people would buy winter tires, drive with common sense and stay home when conditions are poor then the over salting would be needed. Not only is their the environmental damage but the huge cost associated with it as well. There are some areas that have water (lake/wells) near-by where salting isn't permitted and only sand is used.
