If it's like my Gen 5, you need to squeeze the plastic cover to the gear lever and pull it off to reveal 2 Philips screws that hold the centre face plate that surrounds the stereo. Remove them 2 screws, then at the top of the plate slide a flat screw driver with a piece of cloth over so as not to scratch the plastic between the dash and face plate. The plate should come away. You should check the airflow meter. It controls the fuel pump which may be shutting down once the flap in the meter gets so far open or something odd like that. You should be able to do a fuel pressure test without removing the fuel pump as well. OK, I think I'm pretty handy when it comes to working on cars, but I'm told that replacing instrument panel bulbs in a '99 Celica GT can be an all day event if you don't have the right tools. I was told (by a mechanic) that the entire dash has to come out. I don't think I'm *that* handy. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it really that hard? Do I really need special tools? Hey, Most of the time when I go to start my 1991 Toyota Celica ST, it starts up fine, but every now and then, the car wont start immediately, all I get is a click. If I sit there, and just continue to try and start the car, the car will start. I think there is a bad ground connection on the solenoid; my dad thinks there's a bad connection on the ignition. Any one have any ideas? The starter is good; it's just not getting enough juice. Thanks for your advice.
