Tie rod boot clamp?
Posted by C. Morris

Hello,

I ordered a rack-to-tie rod boot for a '96 Toyota Camry wagon with power
steering, from Partznet.com (Toyota part number on the package says
45535-33010. But no replacement clamps were included with the package.

The boot on the vehicle has two clamps, one inboard, one outboard, and the
outboard one is easily reused. However, the inboard clamp is of a type
that needs to be cut off to remove the old boot. I am surprised there was
not a replacement clamp included with the new boot. Is it possible that
the wrong part was shipped to me?

I am waiting to hear from partznet.com but I wondered if anyone else here
has experience changing their own rack-to-tie-rod boot.

Thanks,

Chris

Believe it or not, a good quality zip-tie will do a decent job. Make sure
you select one long enough and of good quality (especially UV-light stable)
For those not familiar,see:
