Ditto. Places like Sears, Midas, Monroe, Pep Boys, etc I'd avoid because of the higher cost and quality issues you read about. On Aug 20, 5:20*pm, "Sparki" <spa...@mchsi.com> wrote:

People with sense will pay more for a ratty old car with a fresh inspection than for one that will need to be inspected and may fail, requiring Big Bucks to get it to pass. If the inspection is new or recent, I'd say it's worth $995-$1200. If not, then if you think it will pass, see if you can get it inspected. Otherwise $700 isn't far off.

The inertial catch should generally be in the belt reel. You should still be able to order seat belt reel assemblies to replace these. Google online Toyota parts dealers for lower prices. The alarm switch is probably in the buckle and still works. So there should be no problem there.

Just looked at the Transtar catalog, the V6 tranny's lock-up solenoid is on the valve body; however, the I4 tranny's lock-up is not listed in the few catalogs I looked at. Maybe a dealer-only item ($$). You can call Transtar to find out. If it's the I4 then you should be able to find it outside the transmission case. Looks like it's top side near where the neutral safety switch is. You should be able to easily remove it with two bolts and even measure the resistance at the connector without...

Three drains/refills like others said should work very well. In fact, Honda specifies this as the way to flush out Dexron ATF used in emergencies. No power flushes!! Better yet, have the pan dropped and wiped clean. Use a new strainer and gasket like the $15-20 Fram ATF kit.
