As vehicle sales (new and used) go down, dealers have to rely more on their service and parts departments to cover their fixed costs. The service department sells labor hours, and within a given facility, there is a limit to how many hours they have available to sell. A way to increase the available hours to sell is to longer hours. --

The proper way is to diagnose the problem and replace the broken part. Otherwise you might change out the EGR valve, modulator, VSV and then found the problem to be a blocked vacuum port. The canister VSV mred mentioned costs $46.99 on rockauto.com (Standard Motor CP419, OE# 90971-12271, 90910-12271). The EGR VSV has one output port shoud be cheaper. A new EGR valve costs $126.89 (AIRTEX Part # 4F1621). Plus a couple of gaskets.

The compressor is probably turning at a different RPM than the engine. That's a reason for the blinking light. Early 90s there was a big Camry recall on AC system corrosion. Maybe something seized up? On May 30, 11:55 am, "Mel" <NS_...@texas.net> wrote:

Do check the PPG web site and call for quote. Pilkington is another premium brand. Id' stay away from Safelite (?). From another thread: Windshield is a structural part of your car. There is a special high strength adhesive that is applied using heat on oil-free, clean glass and has a strict drive-off time waiting requirement. It is not something the home mechanic should attempt.

Just a note for those with older exhaust hardware. After 190k miles, I developed a leak sound at the flex pipe and got a few quotes. Monro wanted $710 to replace the whole section with the catalytic converter. Meineke was $200 to weld in a new flex pipe section. 1.5 hours later I was on the road again and quiet - just the solution I needed for my old car.
