My wife owns a 2000 Camry Solara. Let me ask her. "Honey? Does your colon blink? Hey! watch out! What did I do wrong? Owww!" I'll have to get back to you. (Actually, the colon on the clock in her car DOES blink). rbc wrote:

Just go with any good high mileage type 10-30 oil and a decent filter. Purolators are good and cheap too. The high mileage oils will slightly swell the oil seals and prevent leakage. You probably need new seals on the timing belt side of the engine anyway. Pennzoil Hi mileage and Purolator filters have gotten my 97 camry to 205,000 miles. I fully expect to get 300,000 miles from the car.

check these things first. Wiring in the trunk near the hinge can short out, wiring going to both doors can short out, look there first, these are the only wires that move in the car. Look at your battery cables make sure they are tight to the starter and ground. Any corrosion on the cables? Broken cable end? Get a bettery battery too. You said guy tested the alternator without

I would start with the coil. I didn't know it was the problem until I was stranded on the highway. Coil tested ok, but there was a small crack in the resin covering the windings. Cheap enough part and eliminate it as a possible problem. Change cap and rotor at the same time. switch to a high mileage oil and that will swell the valve seals and stop the smoke. may take a couple of oil changes but cheapest solution.

- Steering wheel squeeking during sharp turns

On my '03, the steering shaft enters the firewall just above and between the brake pedal and the gas pedal. There is a black rubber do-nut gasket surrounding the shaft. This is where you spray, around the shaft where it enters the rubber gasket. The dryness of the gasket is where a squeak can occur.

"L" <lc@xxxjoimail.com> wrote in message news:mHvFf.6574$Nv2.1571@newsread1.news.atl.earthlink.net... Yes it is OK to use Wal-Mart synthetic. It is better than conventional oil, but not as good as Mobil 1. However, starting to use synthetic oil (any synthetic) for the first time on a high mileage car should be done only with care and careful monitoring. Personally I would use a high viscosity (10W-30 or 10W-40) synthetic blend instead of full synthetic on an older car.

Try changing out the strainer (use a new one, don't just try to clean the old one). Fram has a nice kit with cork/rubber gasket. Clean off the metal sludge from the pan. Refill ATF fluid to the proper level. And see how that works before doing any major work.
- When will the 07 Camry come out??
- Posted on 02-05-2006 | 3 Comments
March I heard too. That's early for the normal summer/september release. It should be abut the same price but you'll probably pay first-customers' premium. A few weeks ago someone mentioned the auto transmission lost 20% of the parts. So it must be lighter and cheaper and maybe less reliable. But the March release gives people a chance at the older, proven 2006 model.

Take it back for warranty service. The system has found a problem and blinks the light to inform you of a problem. This should be listed in the manual. See if you need a new compressor? New evaporator or expansion valve? Warranty or $$$$$ yschung840526@aol.com wrote:
