- Proper tire pressure for '03 Camry?
- Posted by Bill Bodinson
I have a 2003 Camry XLE that was recently involved in a collision.
The center of impact was the driver's door. The driver's door shell
had to be replaced and in the process the tire inflation label was
lost. To my surprise, the inflation pressures are not in the owners
manual. I got the car back from the body shop last week and
everything seemed to be ok, except the steering seemed oversensitive.
I checked the tire pressure today and all of the tires were at 34 psi
except for the tire that was impacted which was 40 psi. An alignment
was done during the repair process and I figured all of the tires
would have been inflated after the alignment. It appears that this
was not done. I had the work performed at the collision center at my
local Toyota dealer.
Does anyone know what the recommened pressure should be? I was
thinking it said 32 psi, but I can't remember. Does anyone know why
the dealer would have used a higher pressure? The max. pressure on
the side of the tire is listed as 44 psi.

check the presure rating on the sidewall of the tire. (tires have different
specs, so it wouldn't be in the user manual)

Call a Toyota dealer. They would know.
The pressures listed on a tire sidewall are the maximum pressures for that
tire. One must still follow the car manufacturer's reccomendation for the
particular car.
