Is that simply a clear polish?

It's a clear *matte* nail strengthener/hardener.

Ah. I see

I'd like to find something to use on my toes in the summer when I wear
sandals. Unlike Jamie, I'm not much interested in painting them a color,
but when I wear sandals all day, it'd be nice if there were a way to avoid
showing the dirt that inevitably finds its way under the nails.

Does such a thing exist?

The polish would have to be opaque. It is probably be best to wear
closed shoes in this case or take frequent foot-scrubbing breaks.
I would personally choose closed shoes if this is a problem.

That could be just the ticket - thanks!

my mom has always had "longer" nails, and before going out to do her gardening, she would drag her fingernails over the
jar of vaseline, filling the underside of her nails, which would keep out the dirt.
