Full tilt / make up histronics

My make up addiction has reared its ugly head after years of lying dormant! It's a bit scary since I can't seem to just "look" anymore at make up displays without buying at least one thing. The last time I had it this bad was in 2000. The other day I saw some great lipsticks from Almay one a shelf display in the drugstore. When I went back, a few days later to buy them, the display was gone. I became (almost) hysterical, yelling for help from the store clerk. She calmly lead me to the...

Leave the house without make-up?

This morning when I woke up, I really wanted to go out and get a newspaper before breakfast. But I looked in the mirror and thought I looked terrible. And I really didn't feel like putting make up on and doing my hear yet. So I didn't get my newspaper ... Do you recognize this situation? I think it's stupid, but I couldn't help it. Elisa

Mary Kay Velocity Make Up is AWESOME
Posted on 09-02-2003 | 7 Comments

I have been using the new Mary Kay Velocity skin care and make up and I absolutely love it. It isn't like the other stuff they have for older skin. It's made with the younger crowd in mind. I loved it so much that I signed up to be a Mary Kay consultant so that I could get my own make up. I'm not asking you to buy anything but if you want to check it out go to the website and click on Velocity. I love it. www.marykay.com/sjames38024 Sher

I saw the Nude on Nude eyeshadow colors and they look too much like what I already have. It's boring. I'm looking for something more dramatic. Evie "Charli" <ramblingneil@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:9425e3eb.0308120359.798e143d@posting.google.com...

*Catalogs* That Make You Want to Buy?
Posted on 08-17-2003 | 26 Comments

The names/ads that make you want to buy made me think of this one. Here, I'm wondering what catalogs *themselves*, not so much the brand names that are in them make you want to buy because for whatever reason they make the product look irresistable, be it by the photography, the description, or something else. Mine are: Bliss - and I bet this will be the #1 fave of many AFers. Hats off to Marcia Kilgore for writing the copy herself (IIRC she still does) and

I have been doing this "look" for years. However, compared to the prior looks lately, I think it is a fresh change from the usual garish shimmer-shimmer-glimmer-glitter eye/face/nose/lips and harsh over-colored everything that is so tired. On me, the more makeup, the older I look (not good) and this look is a nice fresh and natural look - good for many. And I shall score a nude on nude palette at my Sak's soon. Also love Bobbi's new model, she is gorgeous. ********************************** We...

Foundations in make-up kit
Posted on 08-11-2003 | 1 Comments

How many foundations are enough to have in my make-up kit? What shades do you use most often on people? I am in the process of creating my first kit, and I managed to get 6 so far I am comfortable with. Is that OK?
