Not really you just gave out a valid opinion. But I don't see the need
of anyone has to justify on what they own and drive for any given
reason. If you only want to own American cars well that's your right to.
I own 2 aussie built GM cars and they do the job really well. :-)

For years I worked in a steelmill here in the gold ole USA, as did my father
and grandfather. And for all those years, nothing but American vehicles set
in our driveways. I guess nowadays that rule of thumb, American Steel for
American Jobs, has sort of went by the wayside since I have no idea where
all this plastic comes from.
I do go on don't I?

Horse Shit!
Go to any steel mill! All the equipment is either from Germany- Austria or
Japan.
Even the American refractory companies are "consolidated' with European
ones.
It is absolutely crazy that the American Steel worker makes steel using
imported equipment and
complains about imported steel.

Hi,
Yup. Americans don't have an ability to make machines to make other
machines. U.S. overdid it to herself. Like U.S. no longer produce vacuum
tubes. Demand for tubes is still there tho.

The big question here is why did anyone reply to this troll?
And, by the way, Mercedes are used as taxis here as well.

them foreign cars just cant compete with US,

: My reasons for hating foreign cars:
:
: 1. Although some of them are pretty nice, Most of them are fucking
: ugly as hell.
:
: 2. The only reason some of them are expensive is because it costs a
: shitload of money to ship the cars to America. If they were made in
: America, they would cost just as much or even less than the average
: American car.
:
: 3. Not everybody knows this, but Mercedes are (or used to be, I'm not
: sure if they still are) used as taxicabs in Germany.
:
: 4. I know that most foreign cars last longer than American cars, but
: while American cars are built to be strong, foreign cars are fucking
: death traps God forbid you are involved in a serious accident. I can't
: even count how many car accidents I've seen in my lifetime where the
: American car only has minimal damage and the foreign car is fucking
: smashed to pieces!!!!!!
:
: 5. Most foreign sports cars look like dog crap!!!!! Ever see the
: Toyota Celica, or the Mitsubishi Eclipse? If you think any of those
: foreign sports cars looks better than a Corvette or a Viper or a
: Camaro or a Trans Am, then you really have a fucking serious
: problem!!!!!!!
:
: 6. There are so many of them that look generic (especially most
: Toyotas). They obviously put no effort into trying to make these cars
: look nice.
:
: Well, that is my reasoning for hating foreign cars. It is no surprise
: to me that most of the brainwashed teens flock to these fucking
: foreign cars like the sheep that they are. If that's not bad enough, a
: lot of them take a lot of time and spend a lot of their drug money to
: "hook them up" with the latest pointless waste-of-money shit for the
: engine and the body so they can make their cars look like something
: out of The Fast and the Furious. Look, don't get me wrong. Some of my
: friends have done this to their cars and they actually came out pretty
: cool, but most people go overboard. Yes, let's all go and sup up our
: cars so we can all drag race on a fucking busy street. Well, I'll say
: this to all these idiots: When your suped up Mitsubishi is wrapped
: around a tree and they need the jaws of life to pry you out of the
: fucking car, you're going to wish you hadn't flushed all that money
: down the toilet, cause when you recouperate from the accident, you're
: going to find yourself working three jobs to pay for your hospital
: bills, unless of course your insurance covers stupidity!!!
:
: Anyway, to sum it all up, I would take a strong American car over a
: weak-ass foreign car anyday! That way, I'll feel really safe and
: secure that there's not as much of a chance of me being trapped in a
: smashed up car in the middle of Interstate 95 with 18-wheelers
: whizzing past me every fucking second!

Or you have bad test.
Except that most cars with foreign brands are made here in the US.
Because they are durable.
How many car crashes have you seen where the little car was undamaged and
the big car was crushed. Perhaps the difference you are seeing is that big
cars make out better in crashes with little cars than the little cars.
Then don't buy them. Besides, we have already determined that you have bad
taste.
Actually, a lot of effort. And a lot of effort to make the cars function
well, have goor ergonomics and last a long time.
You mean the ones brainwashed by good tastes, function and quality?
Again, overboard is a matter of taste.
Gee, and this has what to do with foreign cars?
Actually, car insurance covers stupidity. That is why it is called
"no-fault."
So would I. But I would take a strong foreign car over a weak-ass American
anyday, too. And, apparantly a lot of other people.
I think in a American car vs. 18 wheeler crash, the car loses.
All the best,
Jeff
