I think the ECU stores the driving practices and then uses that to calculate how to change the gears. For example when the cold weather comes, my honda goes crazy. Starts changing too early, or too late, but once I reset the ECU, and accelerate smoother and slower, it stores that and then it drives great. On the last ECU reset though, it fixed the incorrect gear-change timing, but now it pauses on gear changes. Also, something that is probably nothing to do with power/tranny is that sometimes...
- Premature Timing Belt Failure

What kind of damage did it do to the engine? My '99 Prelude needed the auto tensioner replaced at about 64,000 miles (timing belt was making a knocking sound). TSB 01-010 Jan 16, 2001 described the noise as "flapping" and applied to '98-'00. I wish Honda had used a mechanical tensioner for the TB like earlier years. The SOB dealer/zone rep where I've had three Preludes (84, 90, 99) serviced over the last 20 years wouldn't cut any "good will" slack with this known out-of-warranty problem.

They had a special on several of the filters, including the Filtech (15400-P0H-305) for $4.99 each. The Denso filters for the Legend were $10 each.

It could be in many place. Start with radiator, move to hoses, and last check engine parts. Refill it, put something on the bottom of the car, and try to note the location it's dripping from. It won't take too long to notice if it's going out that fast. If it's a hose, it's an easy fix. Tape the hose somehow until you get to the shop to get a new replacement hose. If it's a radiator and it needs replacement, might cost you anywhere from $150 to $300, depending on where you purchase it. Might...

Yeah I agree; I think it is a powertrain warranty. I had to have a cable replaced because my temp control froze on a '90 Integra. That was at 6 or 7 years old and it cost something like $100. Probably not something you want to do yourself because you may screw up the dash's appearance by trying to disassemble it.... JM
