1991 Accord Distributor Dissassembly Question

However, I think there may a few different types distributors that have ignitor mounted somewhat differently. IIRC, I removed the distributor cap & rotor, then it was just the matter of un-screwing the mount for the ignitior & sliding it out. Switch the wires to the new ignitor one at a time, as not to get them mixed up.

Tire rotation
Posted on 11-17-2003 | 3 Comments

I only rotate when the tread depth is 1/32 inch smaller on the fronts. I got 100,000 miles from the original Michlin MXL's that came on my '92 Accord. Stuart Gordon wrote:

"Cheah TE" <none@spam.biz.my> wrote in message news:<3fb345f2_2@news.tm.net.my>... I had a '90 Integra ignition switch fail at about 90,000 miles. My reaction at this early mileage was the same as yours, that is, WTF. The sales advisor suggested turning the key to start it, then releasing it only partway, just enough to disengage the starter. It worked & I was able to drive it in. After a half hour of that, my thumb was hurting quite a lot. But the car was moving.

Nov 13 - I notice that when cold, the 2nd gear synchromesh is now not working - it is virtually impossible to get the transmission to upshift or downshift into second gear without double clutching, and if it is really cold, even double clutching doesn't work. It is physically impossible to force the transmission past the synchromesh into 2nd gear. When the transmission warms up, it works fine, albeit a bit notchy. I call Dawn Morris. I tell her I am tired of transmission problems and would like...

Diagnostic connector location on a '94 Civic
Posted on 11-17-2003 | 3 Comments

Many Thanks to both Randolph and Leon for their help. I located the connector and retrieved a Code 41, The O2 sensor heater. Resistance through the heater in the sensor seems to be within acceptable range, about 16 ohms, and I measure a little over 12 volts available to the circuit through the harness. I sprayed the connectors with WD40 before I put them back together. I disconnected the battery to clear the code, but when I restarted the engine, The light came back on again. At this point I'm...

MHolland. Here is a suggestion on how to check for elect. system drain on battery. Simply disconnect the Neg. battery cable end and connect a test lamp between the two. Touch the post and cable end together while the test lamp is attached form one minute to reset the computer. Now move them apart and check to see if the lamp illuminates, if so begin disconnecting fuses till the light goes off. You will then know which circuit is causing you battery drain. If the lamp doesn't illuminate you have...

Well...its you money....and your right to spend it as you please. If those features give you a sense of security, then have them, but you made your comment based on safety...which is not factual. If you want to add more to that, then only look at cars with traction control, which in my opinion offers more safety capabilties than ABS. As far as AWD vs FWD, if you live in an adverse climate that requires AWD capability, then I agree with you wholeheartedly. "John" <hutch@dontspamplease.com>...

I haven't had any problem with doing it this way for the last 100k miles which equals six adjustments. The engine actually turns over really easily with the plugs out. Spudston
