Help me buy a new CRV
Posted on 03-01-2004 | 7 Comments

I used to live on Staten Island, and I feel your pain.....CRVs have "real time 4wd", meaning it'll supply power to all 4 tires "when needed". What you're worried about is handling on icy roads, so perhaps you'd want the ABS system, standard on the EX. In my opinion, putting 70lbs in the cargo area and driving safely are ALL that's needed; the ABs system is expensive, and doesnt compensate for good driving. Just bought a 2004 LX, and it is FANTASTIC!! The dealer took over $1800 off sticker!! ...

Hi, I already took it back to the auto-electrician who fixed my distributor. He tested it and came to the conclusion that it was my water temperature sensor that needs to be reprogrammed. Its not the original computer its a Moetek computer running a B16A VTEC engine. The sensor needs to be reprogrammed to less than 3.5ohms which is what it is at now. Your engine could be fine but you'd have to check. There's a TSU (Temperature Sending Unit) that is usually located on top of the thermostat housing. Check that and make sure it's working properly. Since the fan is coming on that means the thermostat is working fine. It might be a messed up gauge that doesn't display the correct results. Try cleaning up the contacts and see if that helps. If not a replacement should fix it. --Viktor "Jerry" <jerryg_no_spam@ptd.net> wrote in message

amsjsj, It seems you are doing quite a few upgrades to your car. You mentioned in another post that the Haynes manual didn't have the info you were looking for. I would recommend that you spring for the factory authorized service manual from http://www.helminc.com. It doesn't come cheap, but it is the best $60 - $70 you can possibly spend. I have never done a single repair to my '94 Civic, but have added a few comfort and convenience accessories. The complete and comprehensive

The sounds system is better on the new Accord, too.

I have already put about 45,000 miles on mine since bying last march. I am not in the age group that Honda originally marketed but I think they missed on that anyway as I have seen a much different demographic behind the wheel. I do quite a bit of fishing out of a kayak on the flats and it has been a great vehicle to throw my gear in and a yak on the roof to dash down to FL for quick weekend trips or longer. Gas mileage with my heavy foot has been excellent as well for an

It's hard, but the left and right sides of the connector have dots where you have to squeeze HARD to get the locks to come out of the holes in the lugs. By the time you're done, the lugs won't be gripping the lugs very well on the new lamp, and you may have to dissasemble the plastic hood and give the brass lugs a fresh squeeze with pliers.

Electric Window Stuck Down

Randolph's comments are very good but I would like to add a couple of comments: 1. If you don't have a multimeter, buy one. Even an inexpensive one will work. 2. I think Randolph is suggesting that if you get a length of speaker wire (two conductor), unplug the motor in the door. Stick one end of each wire in the plug to the motor, at the other end touch the wires to the battery and if nothing happens reverse the wires and try again.

Please help me guys!

RADIATOR AL vs CU Accord
Posted on 02-28-2004 | 1 Comments

Personally I like an all metal radiator instead of the aluminum/plastic composites. At least the all metal type can be easily repaired if it does leak at the tanks. The other comment is to religiously flush and fill your coolant no less often than once per two years, and use either a pre-mix anti-freeze or your own blend of anti-freeze and distilled water. This can greatly extend the life of cooling systems. John
