98 Acura 1.6EL - 2nd Gear Popping Out

"McFly" <f.gabriel@videotron.qc.ca> wrote in message news:56Q1c.31079$aN.589469@weber.videotron.net... My 98 EL has 354,000 km and the transmission has never jumped out of gear, so I suspect it is more than just wear and tear. My 1-2 shift does grind the odd time when shifting very fast at red line, but I generally chalk it up as driver error. Imants

Clock Light - 2000 Accord

Thanks to all who posted a response. Removing the clock from the dashboard was easy. The replacement bulb cost $2.00 at local Honda dealer. Can only guess what it would have cost if the dealer had done this work. "electricked" <no_emails_please> wrote in message news:3dSdnc_8xOuIcNrdRVn-iQ@comcast.com...

What to look for when buying used 98-01 Accord????
Posted on 03-06-2004 | 4 Comments

99 accord 4 cyl EX. Bought car used at 36 K miles-absolutely no problems, but I only have 59K miles. I contacted previous owner who said car turned in for lease expire. She had no problems with car. EX 4 cyl has moon roof, leather seats, power driver seat (only power seat). A really good car. Currently has ignition switch recall which I don't think is major. GREAT SERVICE - HONDA SYDNEY
Posted on 03-06-2004 | 1 Comments

I had a similar experience with my 98 Civic. I took it on a road trip, over 10000kms from Winnipeg to Los Angeles, through Death Valley, Vegas, Hoover Dam. All in late August during a heat wave (it was over 120F in Death Valley). My car had 162000 when I left, which is 2000km over my Honda Plus warranty of 7yrs, 160000km. Well when I got back, my trannie was humming. Sure enough, it was the input shaft bearing, which isn't the biggest deal for DIY, but I took it in to my dealer anyways. ...

Removing '91 Accord Rotors ???? HELP!
Posted on 03-06-2004 | 4 Comments

I ended up having someone with the tools do this one. They at least used my parts. Come to find out I had some bad wheel bearings. Expected at high mileage. Not sure it the bearings or warped rotors were my problem, but it's all good now. I'm a happy camper. G-Man "G-Man" <somebody@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:104f23t5ou4mt60@news.supernews.com...

I know the one of the later Civic 4WD wagon models came with an extra low 1st gear, 2nd - 6th were more or less std 5 speed ratios. 4WD ws done with a visous coupler to the rear diff, with approx 60/40 torque split. Never heard of a 4WD Accord wagon in North America. Accord wagons were mostly automatics, though standard was available according to the workshop manual. Stewart DIBBS

Transmission Rebuild on 1989 Honda accord LXI
Posted on 03-06-2004 | 5 Comments

Well an update. 850 was wrong. I had a used unit installed for $250 and I Paid $425 with a warrenty on it. I take it to my guy and he puts it in and low and behold it doesn't work right. I call the parts place tell them and they have spent 2 weeks trying to find me a working tranmission. So now if by monday they don't find me one I get my money back and I can just keep the transmission. Plan is after that to rebuild the OLD one and drive around on the one that doesn't work right (same problem...

Usually it's easy to see if the fuse is out. The wire would be cut and it would be pretty obvious, especially for car fuses where the wires are pretty thich. Also, the fuse might be black from the burning wire. To test with multimeter, you'd have to set it to measure OHMS (resistance) and if the resistance is infinte (usually shown as 0L by the metter) that means the fuse ends are not connected, and thus the fuse is blown. It's most likely the bulb though since everything else is working and...
