'92 Accord won't start at all
Posted on 02-11-2004 | 5 Comments

If none of that works, do this: Take a paper towel and thoroughly wipe out the inside of the distributor cap making sure to get all particles of trash out of it, and off of contacts. Then, after that, take a can of WD40 and spray a THIN film inside the distributor cap. (DO NOT overdo this. You should have NO excessive "run" whatsoever) Don't wipe out the film of WD40. Leave it in there. Replace distributor cap and try to start. I had to do this on my 1990 Civic LX after my dad "washed"...

2002 Accord SE Sedan headlight fogging up
Posted on 02-11-2004 | 2 Comments

I had 99 Accord with the same problem right from day one. My wife noticed moisture in the lense as they were washing it just before we drove it away. This was a brand new car. The dealer replaced the headlight housing (lense) 4 times under warranty. Finally the bulb blew, I guess from all the moisture, after it was replaced we never had the problem again. Bad seal on the bulb! I have to add, that bulb was the only expense other than regular maintenance with the car. I leased for four years put...

95' Civic Rocker Arm Assembly torque specification
Posted on 02-10-2004 | 1 Comments

For the D16Z6 engine the torque for the bolts holding the rocker arm assembly is 20 Nm or 14 lb ft. The service manual specifies the sequence in which to tighten the bolts. I'll send you a scan of the service manual to the "from" address from you post. If it is a decoy e-mail address, post your real one and I'll send the scan there. John wrote:

95 Civic LCD panel replacement?
Posted on 02-10-2004 | 4 Comments

I have figured out that the bulbs are soldered, and more importantly the bulb for the LCD panel is soldered within the plastic housing for the the display (which is again soldered about 15-20 times to the back board). Looks like I just need to find a complete LCD module, which does, however, conveniently plug into the rest of the headset unit... Any ideas on where to pick one up used? Thanks again.

It seems that the red plastic insert on one of the brands of latches that was used would crack and break apart. For example, I believe that there was mention of the seat belt potentially not restraining the driver/passenger in the event of a collision. Honda issued a service bulletin for...

1990 accord headlights burning out
Posted on 02-10-2004 | 12 Comments

You have four headlights, two hi and two low, no dual filiment bulbs, correct? Forget grounding problems, you have five seperate grounds and only the low beams are grounded near the lights, I looked at a 1990 Accord wiring diagram. Here in the city, I never use high beams and if you never use a bulb it should not burn out. Look at the light assemblies, are there any cracks or bad gasketing so cold water can get on the bulbs. When you installed the bulbs, did you

Civic muffler/pipes

Thanks for all the input. After checking a few places for the repair, I found them to be pretty close in price. Got it done for $215. I live in S. Florida, so road salt wasn't a factor. So the pipes and muffler lasted six years since the car was new, so I can't complain.

__Quick Survey_ Would YOU buy this '97 CRV ? ?
Posted on 02-09-2004 | 3 Comments

I bought my 98 civic with almost 200 000 km in it, and got a discount for that (almost 5k canadian total price). I think if you can bring down the price (maybe by 500), it will be a good deal... you probably know better than me that if well taken care of, Hondas go well beyond 300 000 km. "'Curly Q.
