Similarly, the sores that a person gets with herpes, syphilis, and
gonorrhea can occur outside the area covered by a condom.

Indeed, condoms are not 100%. But NOT wearing the condom will much
more readily facilitate transmission of these infections, including
HIV. So this is rather silly.

If you take this to its conclusion of wanting NEVER to contract ANY
diseases, do NOT have sex. That is certainly a reasonable choice for
people to make.

But few wish too. The joys of sex can be marvelously stimulating! And
life is short. So enjoy--and use a condom if you wish to minimize
acquiring an infection!
