Uganda

Uganda has an annual population growth of well over 3% per year (as to the
US's 1% per year) and yet, this is one of the countries that these dire
predictions were made about, 20 years ago.

Once again--no citation. Wonder why...

First, this is a specious use of statistics. The effect of AIDS on
life expectancy has PLUMMETED in many African countries from its gains
in the 70s and 80s. Increased populations of orphans that result in a
net growth will be offset if many of these kids die early and as their
grandparent caretakers die.

Finally--Uganda is ALSO a place where incidence of HIV had dropped and
stabilized due to a vigorous campaign, loud leadership from Museveni
and things like programs of community groups that meet and talk about
HIV, sex, etc., after testing (whether with a positive or negative
test, which probably helps reduce stigma of a positive-only group).

Damn, dude, you are truly grasping at straws.

That's because of the ASSumption, that HIV is killing off
scores of people. The key word is EXPECTANCY, and
it's about as solid and reliable as predictions about the
stockmarket.

With no proper mortality figures, of today AND 10
years ago, lifespan IS ANYONE'S GUESS.

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.
1) Where do these "orphans" come from? Has anyone
actually counted THEM? Or are they more assumptions?
Has anyone checked up to see if their parents are actually
deceased, not just working in some metropole somewhere?
No.

2) If the sexually reproductive population is dying off by
the scores _POPULATION HAS TO GO DOWN_.
Not UP. Not DOUBLE every 25 years. There is no way
around it, and the surest way to know there is no deadly
epidemic about. Other than invent a test that actually
tests for an isolated retrovirus called HIV itself.

A true apologist. An answer for everything.....even if it makes no sense
whatsoever.

ANOTHER 'STRAW".

Mortalities (non natural) in S.A. remain at the same 2.2% P.A. that they
were BEFORE AIDS. Either every other disease in the region vanished
overnight or 'AIDS' is simply the old diseases with a new name. You
decide.
