Can have an impact on CD4 count--and cause a modest depression among
HIV-negative TB-infected individuals:
"In the present study, the mean CD4 counts before treatment were
664/mm3 versus a mean value of 802/mm3 in normal blood donors."
--from Uppal SS et al. Comparison of CD4 and CD8 Lymphocyte Counts in
HIV-Negative Pulmonary TB Patients With Those in Normal Blood Donors
and the Effect of Antitubercular Treatment: Hospital-Based Flow
Cytometric Study. Cytometry Part B (Clinical Cytometry) 61B:20-26
(2004)
But even with TB--and you can guess that's a wee bit of stress--it is
not ANYTHING like HIV disease.
