Hi Guys
I have been asking some of the clinics in SA how they diagnose HIV and/or
AIDS amongst patients who visit these ante-natal clinics and general clinics.
My request always fell on deaf ears, until I asked my perfectly healthy cleaning
lady to go to a clinic and present herself...
She came back with a piece of paper asking the following questions (that
would determine if she was HIV positive) and whether she had these for
more than 3-weeks:
Headache Can be cause by food inotlerances, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances and stress
Sore Throat Can be caused by cold/flu
Muscle & Joint Pains Can be caused by overly acidic diet, cold/flu, Marburg Fever, Lassa Fever
and most African fevers
Tiredness, Fatigue Can be caused again by ongoing stress, high cortisol levels, most flu and
colds and fevers
Persistent fever and night sweats Can be caused by diabetes, colds and fevers
Chronic swelling of lymph glands Can be caused by Scarlet fever and most Africa fevers
Diarrhoea with vomiting and nausea The list of endless, from food poisoning, Candida Albicans,
food intolerances, etc
Skin rashes Food intolerances, acidity, lack of essential fatty acids, high cortisol, etc.......
Recurrent mouth ulcers and sores Food intolerances, stagnant water, mouth cuts, etc........
Difficulty swallowing Colds/flu and fevers.
Shingles STRESS, high cortisol levels, suppressed immunity, etc.
Chest infections with cough, chest pains, and fever
These symptoms fit most fevers, pneumonia and even STRESS!
What is interesting, that all these symptoms are also associated with
MALNUTRITION, POVERTY, POOR SANITATION AND
POOR HYGIENE.
How many of these symptoms do not fit a myriad of other illnesses/diseases
and fevers in Africa. Dysentry in itself can cause 50% of these symptoms.
Diptheria can cause 60% of these symptoms.
These symptoms are appararently part of the Bengui Definition adopted a few
years ago in Africa. Therefore, a blood test is not necessary (how bloody
laughable). In stead of spending 9 billion rand on an arms deal, test each
and every single person in SA.... and ten re-access the HIV and AIDS
stats... So based on these questions, will it be determined if you are HIV
positive (without a blood test).
Sincerely
Mark B. Zuhrbrigghen

I spoke to Mark myself. His cleaning lady is not perfectly healthy.
She is losing weight quite seriously. Mark and I discussed this and
I pointed out that we have grave cause for concern if everything is
simply being put down to AIDS and not being treated. I mentioned
that many cancers for example have weight loss as a symptom and that
it was critical for her sake and for others being treated by the
clinic that we get to the bottom of this. Mark could not talk for
long as he had to go out (he had phoned me back after I left a
message).
I would be interested to see this piece of paper. I suspect it is a
pamphlet listing some of the signs of untreated AIDS.
Mark was unable to tell me which clinic in Khayalitsha his domestic
worker attended. I offered to take it up with the Department of
Health because if what he says is true and that his domestic worker
is being "diagnosed" with HIV based on one random sign, being that
of weight loss, we have a travesty which needs urgent addressing. I
am most concerned about this, because it is entirely contrary to
official policy and entirely contrary to standard medical practices
in any clinic in this country.
Mark made several attempts to tell me about the unreliability of HIV
testing and the horrors of ARVs in addition to the story above.
Mark Zuhrbrigghen has clearly got an anti-ARV bias together with the
same "testing" bias that Alex has.

I hope my standard of living doesn't go up. I can't afford the one
I have now.

So you're saying he's lying. Perhaps you should take that up with him.
I hope this isn't one of those "don't read the Guardian" responses.
I'll check back.
