Has anyone else heard of Palm Springs being a mecca for gay tweekers?
My gay brother often heads there with a carful of human trash from the
gay bar for a weekend-long meth & sex orgy. I also remember a plot
line from Queer As Folk where one of the characters gets hooked on
meth and embezzles a few thousand dollars to go on one of the Palm
Springs trips with some crackheads he met at the gay bar. If this
gets you excited and you're thinking of heading there to party, just be
aware that my brother and all his crackhead friends are HIV+.

So my question is why the police don't put a stop to this? Palm Springs
as meth capitol of the American West is hardly much of a secret, and
with Bush's declaration of war on meth (because it cuts into his coke
dealer's sales), one would think that the Palm Springs resorts would
have been among the first raids. But the reason is because it involves
gay men with AIDS. If the government were to crack down it would
involve throwing thousands of HIV+ gay men in jail and not only would
their medical care cost a fortune - not to mention the risk they would
pose to the other inmates and guards - but it would be a political
nightmare for police and government officials. As a result, crystal
meth is openly sold and used in parking lots of gay bars across the
country, and the police are under unofficial orders not to interfere.

- Anal Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection is nearly universal among HIV-positive homosexual
or bisexual men and about 60% in HIV-negative men exhibiting the same sexual behavior.6

WOMEN:

- Many innocent victims suffer the health consequences associated with sodomy as a result of
blood transfusions, rape and having normal sexual relations with those who have committed
unnatural relations with others. While men of all ages who commit sodomy with other men remain
at an alarming risk, young bisexual men are said to be a significant "bridge" for HIV
transmission to women.7

- Women who commit sex acts with other women face a significantly higher risk of bacterial
vaginosis, breast cancer and ovarian cancer than heterosexual women.8

I'm not exactly sure where, but there is going to be wild meth-fueled
sex orgy at some Palm Springs motel this weekend. I know someone who

Palm Springs is notorious for gay meth orgies. I don't know why the
local police tolerate it; aside from room reservations, the tweeked-

NEWARK, N.J. -- Prosecutors want a former Newark teacher accused by a student of infecting him
with the virus that causes AIDS to be tested for the disease.

Hassan Vann, 29, a former music teacher at West Side High School in Newark, was indicted
Thursday, accused of sexually abusing a student who now has AIDS, the Essex County prosecutor's
office said.

Vann faces up to 30 years in prison and 14 charges, including sexual assault and contact,
official misconduct, child welfare endangerment, giving drugs and alcohol to a child and
failing to notify a sexual partner that he had a sexually transmitted disease.


"Mr. Vann's alleged conduct involving his former student was vile and has forever changed this
young man's life," said Essex County Prosecutor Paula T. Dow. "My office has zero tolerance for
these brazen acts and we will prosecute these matters to the fullest extent of the law."

Vann, of Irvington, couldn't immediately be reached for comment Friday, nor could his attorney,
Raymond A. Brown.

Paul Loriquet, spokesman for the prosecutor's office, said the victim told authorities he's
only had unprotected sex with Vann and that prosecutors plan to ask a judge to order Vann to
undergo an AIDS test.

The student believes the frequent, unprotected sex with Vann led to him contracting the virus,
Loriquet said.

Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Mark S. Ali said the indictment covers a period from
September 2000 to June 2004, with the initial incident happening in December 2000 when the
then-14-year-old male was pushed against a high school wall and sexually abused.

The student graduated in 2004 and tested positive for HIV in May 2005, which is when the
prosecutor's office said it was notified.

An investigation to determine the school district's culpability is being conducted by the state
child welfare officials, Ali told The Star-Ledger of Newark, which first reported the
indictment in Friday's newspapers.

The former student, now 20, plans to file a civil lawsuit against Vann and the school district.
A state appeals court in August gave him the right to file the lawsuit though he missed a legal
deadline to do so. The court cited extraordinary circumstances surrounding the case when
granting the right to file suit.

Loriquet said Vann is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Essex County Superior Court.

you go find out if it's true and report back to us?

While you're there in Palm Springs, you may get run over by a retiree's golf

Haven't you heard that HIV doesn't mean a damn thing? HIV does not cause
AIDS. AIDS is caused by shooting drugs (IV drug use), intestinal
parasites, malnutrition, candida infections from overuse of
antibiotics/antibacterials, and the early AIDS cases in the 80s and 90s were
