Type IV (Delayed) Hypersensitivity. Allergic Contact (Chemical Sensitivity) Dermatitis results from exposure to chemicals added to latex during harvesting, processing or manufacturing. Latex glove products utilize coagulants, accelerators, antioxidants, emulsifiers, stabilizers, extenders, colorants, stiffeners, biocides, fragrances, etc.(4) These chemicals can cause skin reactions similar to those caused by poison ivy. As with poison ivy, the rash usually begins 24 to 48 hours after...

Like the CDC, the State Department’s Agency for International Development (USAID) has censored its web site to remove information on the effectiveness of condoms. As recently as February 2003, USAID’s web site included two detailed documents on condom effectiveness. The document The Effectiveness of Condoms in Preventing Sexually Transmitted Infections stated: “Latex condoms are highly effective in prevention of HIV/AIDS” and “Public and government support for latex condoms is essential for...

REGARDING REFERENCE www.epa.gov/oppts/documents/fsis31.pdf Immediate hypersensitivity is exemplified by the person allergic to shellfish whose tongue goes raw and swollen at a restaurant, or the person allergic to bees who is bitten and dies. These are due to the immune system's antibodies (in particular, immunoglobulin E, or "IgE") reacting to the tree proteins in the latex. Routes of exposure include aerosol, direct bloodstream contact (medically called "parenteral", such as by intravenous...

Are condoms a greater health risk than the std's they don't really protect against? It is politically correct to advocate condoms but every day the evidence increases that they do little to protect and may pose a very serious health risk. It is hard for the CDC and FDA to examine these risks as they have been so vocal in promoting condoms but could their silence lead to dire consequences. I for one having done exaustive research strongly feel so.

The way animal research stalled the availability of protease inhibitor treatments was exposed several years ago in Washington Post magazine, and has since been conceded - in part - by the Vice-President of Merck, Bennett M.Shapiro. He acknowledges that trials of a promising protease drug were halted in 1989, after it was tested on lab rats and dogs and they all died. Merck assumed this treatment would have the same deadly effect on humans.

Toluene is considered a reproductive toxin by the State of California (OEHHA 2004) and the EU (UNECE 2004). In its establishment of a public health goal for toluene in drinking water, California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment found that “Studies in animals have shown a clear association of toluene exposure with developmental toxicity” (OEHHA 1999), including reduced fetal weight, and bone growth deficiencies and deformities.

The way we address HIV is cause for concern The truth is that there are millions of people living to whom HIV has not caused illness and death. This information brings joy and hope to the heart of any person who has ever dreaded the onset of AIDS. Initially, we only saw the deaths of those infected with HIV. Science, medicine and the pharmaceutical companies looked for answers, but fear set the standard that HIV infection was a fatal disease. Many cried out for answers. Pressure led to the...
