I'd also like to discuss the topic of the cost of
meetings... the exchange rate isn't the MOST
expensive part of this meeting!! I'm not sure
if the membership is aware that the 'official'
hotel of ISAC for the meeting is the most
expensive in the area! The cost per night for a
room is 241 - 261 EU per night... and WE the
membership are paying for the officials to stay
there!! I don't know about you but for me, $400
a night is a bit much!! How MANY officials do
we pay for at this rate? and to top it off, It
is 5.5 km away from the venue! Not even close in
Proximity!! I pay for my own expenses for this
meeting... no university or generous donor! If
they had to pay their own, I wonder what hotel
they'd pick? If we can't have officers that are
as careful with our money as we are, then we need to do something
about it!!
