I had the most unpleasant experience yesterday. I'm babysitting my
brother in Las Vegas because he's insane (literally). And while
both of us are bipolar, the crystal meth sent him over the edge into
full-blown manic psychosis. So I'm trying to hook him up with a
psychiatrist and because he has AIDS he managed to get in at the
county AIDS clinic.

Yesterday morning we went to the welfare office and I thought that
was embarrassing enough, but that afternoon we went to the AIDS
clinic to see the psychiatrist. I think I'm going to have to burn
my clothes after sitting in that lobby for an hour. I've never
seen a more pathetic group of losers than what I saw in the waiting
room. Several were cute young gay men, but I know that the AIDS
clinic is not the best pickup scene in town. The majority did seem
to be homosexual men, including one who might have looked healthy
enough to not raise suspicion until you saw the festering AIDS ulcer
on his neck. A number of blacks, some surprisingly old. One middle-
aged white woman, all emaciated and this aura of sickness surrounding
her. And lots of brochures and stuff for the expensive drugs the
government pays over $25,000 a year for to keep each one of them
alive long enough to infect thousands of others before finally
succumbing to the (preventable) virus from hell.

But I'll credit them for getting my brother into the psychiatrist.
And they hooked him up with a guy who fills out the zillion
financial forms, and his psychiatrist declared him disabled and
he's gonna get Socialist Insecurity Disability, all for simply
being a stoopid tweeked out twinkie (hence my alias) with AIDS.
They're putting him on Seroquel but it might take a few weeks to
kick in and I'm stuck in Vegas until he returns to earth. He
claims he is going to pick up the starter packs but I think he
isn't because he started ranting about mindcontrol again last
night (apparently there's some big plot involving psychiatric
drugs and black helicopters .
