The price comparison list at DrumLib (
http://drumlib.com/supp/prod/ephedra_02.htm ) is becoming quite out of
date, In particular, ProLab's ThermaPro (with Ma Huang extract in a
proper ECA stack ratio) is no longer available at either source listed.
(Only the "ephedra-free" snake-oil is available now.)
Please post info on sources of low-cost weight-loss suppliments
containing ephedra in the proper ECA ratio.

What clinical studies?
Define "ephedra-related fatalities"

The anti-ephedra lobby has DEA roots. It's all about the battle
against methamphetamine labs, and has nothing to do with people having
strokes and heart attacks.
Far more people die from aspirin than from ephedrine. There's no
reason for a product ban -- better labeling and warnings, yes.
Consumer education, yes. Bans? No. It's all bullshit propaganda.
The ephedra plant has thousands of years of safe therapeutic use.
Along comes the bloody American DEA, and poof! Another crusade
against a poor plant.

So the mainstream media equals your clinical studies? That's funny!
So you think the press should be believed and "stuff" on the net should not
be believed? Are you really that naive?
Go here to get educated or not.

Forget the herbal -- you don't know whether you're getting a half dose
or a double dose of what's labelled in any given bottle, which largely
is why the herbals are being called dangerous. If you want to stack,
get some pharmaceutical ephedrine HCl and caffeine tablets.

Unfortunately, that's true, but the current price data is going to be
replaced any day now by our new setup. The problem occurred because
switching to the new setup took a lot longer than we expected.
But it's going to be really cool: The current vitamin price comparison
has roughly 50 categories, but the new one will have about 300
categories!

Good point! ... I haven't been on this diet very long at all ... I've been
eating small meals every three hours and luckily it seems to be working so
far. Losing 100 pounds is remarkable! Congrats on that ... and thanks for
the info

The problem with these drugs - ephedrine, methamphetamine, cocaine - is
that they don't have a simple dose/response curve. There is, for
instance, no relationship between a recreational dose and a fatal dose
of cocaine. Of course, if you take more of the drug, you're more likely
to run into complications.
And I agree with the poster who suggested that aspirin has killed more
people than ephedrine, even beyond those who take overdoses deliberately.
Being overweight represents a significant cardiovascular strain. Adding
drugs whose central effects involve the heart seems like a needlessly
risky proposition.

I believe that ephedrine is less used than aspirin, making this a slightly
flawed argument.

a couple of years ago I went into a muscle Tech shop in the local mall
and asked about something for losing weight ( body fat ) He handed me
a bottle that contained ephedra as the main ingredient. To this day I
cannot recall the name of the stuff that I was taking. But I will
tell you this....
I work in an extremely fast paced warehouse environment where if you
don't maintain a minimum of 95% standard over a period of 10 hours
lifting 50-100 pound cages you get reprimanded.
I decided to start taking this supplementstarting with one in the
morning before I started work. Let me tell you. This one little pill
gave me a strength and energy boost like you wouldn't believe. This
lasted for alost half of my day. When the effects wore off I felt a
little sluggish for a little while ( hour at the most ) but went back
to my normal ways afterwards for the rest of the day. Then I thought
maybe I would take 2 in the morning and see what happens. Did this
for a period of almost 2 weeks and never noticed any real difference
in performance only in the fact that it took effect quicker. Then I
changed it around and took one in the morning and took another one at
lunch time. Talk about a guy burning around the warehouse just
throwing the cases around like they were boxes of kleenex.
Never once did I wake up the following morning or go home that night
and feel sore and tired from the extra spent energy from the ephedra.
Two pills a day is all that I ever took. My supply ran out and when I
went bck to get another bottle I was told that they didn't make them
anymore. This was when all the fuss about how bad it was came out
into the news.
I did do some research afterwards onthe product itself and found out
that if you take enough of a dosage of ephedra it has the same effects
of speed.
If I could find it again, something similar to what I took, I would
gladly take it with no questions asked. I work in the same place for
a little over 8 years now and that summer when I took ephedra I lost
30 pounds working that summer alone. Nothing else different was done.
