You know, shitskull, the "several states" were all colonies chartered by
teh King of England and not countries at all. They were of equivalent
legality and all subservient to the King. At no point were they each
considered separate "countries. Shove your dictionary up your
brain-filled ass. We aren't talking about what was before the US
existed, we're talking about now.

Maybe try to read what's on the screen and deal with it. Or just fuck
off and leave it to teh grownups to discuss these matters.

Yes. These are all the case. But you miss the point and it's only about
as wide as the chasm in your logical abilities.

The original rationales for many of the things in the constitution have
been supplanted by changing technology, differing national priorities
and evolved capabilities. When that has happened in the past, the
constitution was amended to suit the changed circumstances. See how that
works? 27 times so far.

So it's, um, essentially population dependent. Just like I said. Er,
Junior.

And still leaves them with a large dose of hind tit. Fewer people, fewer
votes, less power. Seems reasonable. Or is it that you want all that
empty space to have a vote, too? One acre; one vote. Good premise for
terrific logic, reason-boy.

And what power is it, exactly? In the two centuries we've been here,
twice the popular vote has been subverted by the arcana of a system
designed for an agrarian nation. We're not an agrarian nation any more.

Still with the states. It's not a *state* election we're talking about.
It's about the nation *as a nation* that's the issue in a presidential
election.

And when the collected states had a population of a couple million, no
paved roads and commumnications that proceded at the pace of a walking
horse, it was a reasonable way to do things. The population of the top
49 metro areas all exceed a million people.
<http://www.demographia.com/db-usmet2000.htm>

We now have virtually instantaneous communications. Those metro areas
are no longer the tidy villages that Washington and Jefferson walked
around. We don't do very much the same way they did. We changed the
nature of the nation over two centuries. We've changed important
elements of teh federal systemn. We've changed the constitution.

Ridi, pagliacci. I love those big, floppy shoes.

We're talking about the government established by the founding fathers

And horseshoes...don't forget horseshoes.
Heh...what good is this discussion if neither of us considers the

Being coy again. Cute.

Don't lie now Bob. I had to treat you like you were slow and

But meaningless in this discussion. You brought it up, I revealed to

compared to other Presidential elections. I think you're upset
because I slapped down what you thought was some sort of profound
victory. Let it go and don't be so proud of the insignificant margin
Gore got over Bush.

Bob, see above about how meaningless the popular vote is. You claim
you know all about the electoral college, but act stupid when asked
which is more important.
I will not explain it again.

'Stupid' is not in the preceding paragraph Bob. Gullible is. Read it
again. Since you're adding phantom words to my posts, add 'foolish'
as well to anyone who voted for Gore. Imagine how foolish they'd feel
after September 11, 2001 if Gore actually was President? Imagine how
foolish and gullible you'd feel?

Please. This is just a newsgroup. Personal insults and attacks are
ineffective. You start off the subject with a name, and I see further
down the post you couldn't resist to throw in some others. If you are
getting frustrated, step back, cool down. Relax.

And repeating those truths doesnt make them wrong.

Might as well join one. Has the left tried conspiracy theories yet?
I think once...the famous 'Bush Knew' nonsense concerning September
11, 2001. Didn't work to well.

Now you've done it. Gave me a chance to reveal my opinion on wmd.
No wmd? Hussein hid them real well, dump them into the desert, or
they're in Syria. Most likely the latter.
No proof that he destroyed them? Then he still had them.
Bush is in a win-win situation. But, as I stated earlier, the Dems
will underestimate him and try to use the wmd matter to bash him.
Fools.

No...just good thinking and some nifty logic. Democrats suck at
national defense.
Ok...so you doubt yourself often. Your remark below indicates that
you are a man for admitting your faults.

No, believing what I believe means they are wrong. It's like
religion. For you to truly believe in your religion requires you to
believe that every other religion is false. Simple concept. It's
hard to believe I have to explain it.

Not sure what you mean. Is there a threat somewhere in having
beliefs? I suppose there is if you're a taliban or other
anti-American muslim, but for rational, civilized people, being
certain is not bullying.

Do you pause often during the day after an event and ask yourself if
how you acted during it is manly?
You need lessons in being self-secure sir.

As hard as knowing that water is wet, pounding your thumb with a
hammer will hurt.
Now...we've jumped from your psycho-analysis of me mode to your
philosophical mode. You're all over the place Bob.

No. That would be suffering fools if I answered your first question.
'How can you tell if someone is from the left?" That's an assinine
question.

See above. Another suffering fools request.

No, it doesnt affect validity, but a political newsgroup is the place
to go when hunting for liberals.

Ahhh! Julian wants it banned! That means he's going to demand
concentration camps be built and have his bud Ashcroft throw all the
leftists into it! ahhhhhhhh...
How silly.

It takes a village and all that claptrap. Heard it before. yawn.
Sounds to much like 'From each according to his abilities, to each

Does those movements and events even apply to today's liberalism?
When they demand dad and mom government to step in and cure all of
life's ills? Yesteryear's 'liberalism' bears no semblance to today's.

Don't be reactionary Bob. No one is against those things. Of course
we traditionally have the Democrats every election or so claiming the
Republicans want to rape and pillage social security. That's a good
example of what villains and liars democrats are.

temper, temper.

There should be limits Bob. Liberals just looooove that big
government. They don't believe people can survive without government
caring for them day in and day out.

Glad you're 'man enough' to admit it.

You're being rude Bob. Licking your wounds while trying to insult me
is tricky.

Humans must be constantly monitored. (shades of your boogeyman
Ashcroft?) Humans cannot survive without constant help from the
government. Cradle to grave. That's leftism in a nutshell.

You understand the need for outrageous taxation? We've all heard the
stories of government waste. I'm sure you did not let any of your
businesses suffer from wasteful overhead.

So..no one at Enron was punished. The Dems did their best to tie Bush
in with them, even after he refused to help them.
Enron...another dud by the democrats trying to tie Bush to it.

Absolutely. The more the left's tactics and lies are exposed, the
sooner it'll get rejected by the people and go into the dustbin of
history. And believe me...it's getting rejected.
Actually Bob, that's one of the reasons the Dems lost tremendously
last congressional elections. The people saw thru their lies and
deception. Liberal guilt-trips are dying. People don't want to hear
how evil their country is, they don't want to hear doom'n'gloom
constantly spouted from the aimless democrats.
That's why no liberal radio show is successful. 24 hour 'how bad
everything is' is not attractive to the American voting public.

Ah...you're one of those. Boycott the Dixie Chicks? Why, how dare
you deprive them of their right to criticize the President!
Excellent example of what I was talking about above. People see your
reactionary untrue drivel about how Bush or Ashcroft is denying people
their rights, or somehow people have less rights than before September
11, 2001, and they know it's yet another baseless bunch of lies just
to demean Bush.

Just their ideology. And while I would like to see it conquered and
regarded in the future as pure nonsense, the left is doing it
themselves for us.
Sort of like your 'points' here. The more you go on, the more I can
point out how much you love the government, how you don't mind paying
high taxes, (and believe others shouldnt complain about them), and
that America has earned being branded as evil by some lesser
countries.

Ah...reason together. How lovely. What I understand fully is the
need to push Conservative ideology further, to let our views be known
to every voter, to let the people fully understand the differences
between the left and the right. Ideally, the democrats will get an
even bigger defeat than the last elections. That's the plan. Don't
let it out.

So...palestinian parents don't encourage their children to become
martyrs when they get older?
I've seen many interviews with parents of homicide-bombers who, while
sad their child is gone, fully believe in the righteousness of their
child's actions.
People like that need to be obliterated from the face of the earth.
All fanatical muslims, especially anti-American muslims should be
slapped down hard.
This ties nicely into my 300,000 Dead Muslim Countdown thread.
Take a peak:

You offered the comparison. No corrections or backpedaling now.

No...not insane. Just following strict Islamic teachings.

Good.

An anonymous poll in England last year asking its muslim population if
they agreed with bin laden's actions got a significant positive
result. I think that anyone who follows the pedophile prophet
mohammed's teachings are dangerous.

You WERE sounding reasonable a few paragraphs up. Now it's 'ufo mode'
again.

I dismissed nothing. Friend Bob, I'm not here to entertain you by
considering every 'point' you make as valid. My reply addresses your
seriously wrong analogy between Methodists and radical muslims.

lol. Ah yes...America is no better or no worse than any other
countries. Oh, woe!, how we might offend lesser countries by being
proud of our country! We will make them angry at us for being so
mighty, so prosperous, so advanced. And how embarrassing it is!

(So you don't have to ask, my point with the above is that it's an
example of American liberal thinking.)

Nonsense Bobby! Immediately following the Iraq war, we see the DNC
scheming, most if not all of the Dem candidates joining with other
countries in bashing Bush, just for political gain. And they continue
to this day. Now...if the Dem leadership and other talking-heads are
doing this, just how many of their Dem constituents believe the same?
A majority?
I think the problem is that Democrats have long forgotten that we were
formed as an Independent country. We don't have to listen or kowtow
to the world. We'll do it our way. This isn't Canada, worshipping
the UN, afraid to insult the world. You've forgotten this country's
roots. And I'm here to help you remember.

Poppycock. Conservatives, as you pointed out, don't all march to the
same tune. I have my disagreements with some. So...there goes your
theory.
btw...is it different with Democrats? Especially the very liberal? I
mean, if one does not adhere totally to the collective's ideas, does
the drone get punished like being forced to read Ann Coulter's books?

Wait until the post is finished before posting your sig.

Americans now have different options in obtaining their news. With
the advent of Foxnews, the many conservative talk shows, many
conservative web-sites, this explains WHY the Dems suffered
tremendously last elections. People hear both sides now.

I don't see other countries being swamped with immigrants even

Truth can be ugly and difficult to accept Bob. Check your 'Be A Man'

democrats say it is. But then again, they're lying just to get

No..just pointing it out. No need to read more into it.

Not sure Bob. But I'm sure there's more than fifty.

No, no, no. I see your problem. You consider when Republicans point
out obstructionism and pure nasty politics from the democrats as
'whining'.
I think it's just their observations which they then inform the public
about, which will help the public decide next election.

Not just 'others' Bob. Liberals. And other gullible Democrats.

Well, that's why I point out those less than sincere people.

Let's see....$30 TRILLION dollars expected as revenue to the
government in the next ten years. $350 billion going back to the
people in tax cuts. Oh yeah...how damaging to the government that
piddly $350 billion is.

I think you have a 'I just don't like the answer' problem.

Telling the truth about their opponents will be enough. Especially
soft Democrats are on national security.

You forget. I pointed out numerous times who the gullible are.

No, it's my point Bob. Any version of leftist 'fairness' is suspect.
Not just the piggy bank reason.

Great. We agree.

Untrue.

So...now you're snide. We've got 1. Rude 2.Coy 3.Snide.
Make no mistake, even out of power, the left still screws things up.
They're determined to obstruct the President as much as they can.
They've sold their soul to Clinton type politics where meanness and
falsehoods rule the day. Just proves that having them out of power is
not good enough. Their ideas must be totally squashed by exposing
their socialist dream for America. It's coming. You said it's
cyclical. I think Republicans and their ideas are going to be running
this country for far longer than you can imagine.

You mean what you say. Gong? Hide from the grammar and spelling
police! heh

Anyway, no one ever said the republicans are not to be responsible for
what's going on in congress or the white house. How they fix the
nation's problems caused by Clinton and September 11, 2001 is fair
game for them to be judged on. Remember: National Security trumps
all else.

By forcing the government to spend more wisely. As cliche as it
sounds. The government works for us, not the other way around. We
already went thru my lesson on government waste.

The raising of taxes, the reduced military, the sharing of sovereignty
of our nation to the UN will be more than enough punishment, I assure
you. But it'll take at least a generation for them ever to come into
power again, if at all. Remember my evil RW plan for obliterating
their ideas from the face of the earth?

False premise. No whining is coming from Republicans. Pointing out
obstructionism to the voting public on the part of the Dems is fair.

Bob Pastorio's Irrelevant Question Store! Sale Today!

This 'sad group' is hardly sad. We get to watch the Dem candidates
eat each other alive, trying to one-up each other on how bad they can
bash Bush. I think they increasingly know they're each vying for a
spot that will lose terribly to Bush.

Nonsense Bob. The times I listen to Conservative talk shows is
actually quite remarkable. I find that they agree with me on most
things.

The people see the lies of the left as well. They don't like sour
grapes crybaby liberals bashing their President and often times
seemingly their country. But we've covered that.

and unworkable.

So it comes to this? *I* can't change the constitution so let's not

Good job.

Your arithmetic is as good as your logic.

So the smaller states can collectively outvote the big guys. That's
better somehow? The minority should dictate to the majority?

Are you sure that's a fair way, so everybody's vote counts? As long as
the archaic notion of breaking up the electorate into 50 packages and

But when the Constitution was written, the states were all still
sovereign, as I have shown you, and they were under no obligation to
give that up. They gave it up with some reluctance and one of the
hottest contended items was the issue of the heavily populated states
having control over the other states if the federal government's power

for your great-great-great grandfather is good enough for you. But they
still weren't fully sovereign as nations would be. They all answered to
the King. They're sovereign in the same sense that provinces are
sovereign. Separate (to varying degrees) from each other but not

So, let's take stock. It isn't fair. It isn't efficient. Two groups of

For a guy who identifies himself with the name of a fictional newspaper
cartoon character, I can see why you'd think that. I especially admire
the depths of y'alls logic, the penetrating views espoused and the
profoundly well-developed opinions.

I also admire the use of irony. You guys live it.
