- Knee Pain Question
- Posted by Brian
I've recently developed some pain in my right knee, mainly coming from the
back of it. It hurts worse after I've been sitting for a while. It only
causes problems walking after the long time of sitting. It sometimes hurts
from the front and will sometimes shoot down my calf but it is mainly from
the back? I can't remember hurting it recently.
Any suggestions?

Are you on any meds at moment? Some meds can cause muscle and tendon
damage

No..but I do cross my legs often (left foot over right knee) and I sit all
day long like that sometime. Yesterday, I had it elevated most of the day
and hardly had any pain.

Crossing legs causes distortion of the back bones and is very likely to lead
to pinching of the nerves which go down the leg. When I was teaching groups
about healing I would go round the circle knocking knees so that everyone
sat in normal position. By the time I had gone round once, several had again
crossed legs. It is such a habit with us.
Another cause of such nerve pinching can be a slipped disk, or, as in my
case, a cancerous vertebra. I take 2 tramadol in the evening to be sure of a
good night's sleep.
Some simple herbal treatment may be sufficient in your case, just enough to
put the nerves to sleep at the time when the rest of you wants to toddle off
to the land of nod.

Well, it feels much better, now that I've elevated it somewhat at work and
try to quit crossing my legs.
I still think I may have something wrong with the knee, as when I may stand
or pivot wrong, it will pop or just feel weird.
My extreme pain I had last Monday could be from a sprain or something.
