Expecting USENET to change to accommodate HTML, and also to accommodate
non-English characters in a text based newsgroup, is the sign of a moron.

Indeed. Arguing that you are right to post something other than text in a
non-binary newsgroup is the second sign of being a jackass.

Sorry, the infrastructure for USENET to handle HTML and non-US character

NNTP went 8 bit clean a couple years ago.
MIME has been in place for a while.
MIME headers to flag something as HTML or Unicode is here and works.
While either can make for a completely unreadable post, neither should
cause a properly written NNTP client to crash.
(Okay, with the exception of the piece of javascript I slipped
into a USENET post about 10 years ago that caused Ted to turn off
his machine when Netscape started opening windows like mad.
I still consider this to be user error :-).
That said, griping to the poster directly instead of
doing your cross post bliterhing would be more effective.
Kindly take triangle.general out of your list of newsgroups.
I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone here actually gives a damn.

It's tree pollen time.
In North America it is not Pine pollen (e.g. coniferous trees -- those
with needles/cones), but rather the -=deciduous tree blossoms=-, as I
understand it.
A close family member has this allergy. So we've been thru the testing and
Allergy education for it.
Cheers,
Emma
