- Extreme Sinus Pressure
- Posted by Yitz
Hi - I don't know if this is the right group but I am getting these symptoms
and was wondering if someone can enlighten me.
My head at the moment feels congested. When I tilt my head I get this really
painful sinus pressure. Sometimes it just happens randomly and I get this
extremely painful headache/migraine.
I believe it may be allergy related because it's only there when I feel
congested. It's the 4th time it's happened this year. Never had it before.
Sometimes the pain is so intense at the slightest head movement. I've never
had a migraine but there are times where I have to hold my head, close my
eyes and I'll be there grimacing and waiting for it to pass. Takes 5-10
seconds. This doesn't fare well during business meetings or while driving!
It feels like some sort of air pocket making it's way through the
congestion.
Thanks to anyone can tell me what it may be,
Yitz

I really suggest mentioning it to your doctor next time you're there.

For OTC meds, I recommend against the "drying" type as in regular Sudafed. They
used to be my sinus drug of choice, but I've never had so much sinus pain as
the last bout. I switched to non drying sudafed, it comes in a large green gel
cap. Acccording to what I've read, you need the sinuses to drain, not
neccessarily dry up.
Just my opinion. Be careful, if it gets bad enough, you may be dealing with
full blown infection and need antibiotics. I'd give it about a week or two
then get to the doc. Flonase has also been a God send.
