- What's this iron overload stuff all about?

I saw several posts about 'iron overload' and toxic effects of iron in SM and MHA. Is the whole stuff just total BS made up by some FANATIC vegetarians and other kooks?

Hi I'm about to start Accutane next week. I just saw the derm today and he gave me the prescription for the blood work to be done. This all should be done in a few days then I'll pick up the prescription from my derm. Now I know many side effects and most things to know about Accutane already, but what should I excpect since I"ve never taken it before? Only thing I worried most about was thinning hair which derms said he rarely sees anyways. And nose bleeds? I read about some people using...
- Are any drug companies working on a safer Accutane-like med?

Wondering if the drug companies are working on "cures" like Accutane that are safer. Anyone know of anything? I personally know a lot of people who got permanently clear on Accutane, but I am scared to death of the dangers. You would think these companies would be falling all over themselves to improve on the mechanism of acttion to reduce damage and side effects.

Check Your Testosterone If your sexual desire is low, the solution may be hormone replacement. Testosterone is the juice of manhood. If helps make muscle grow and hair sprout, and it contributes to aggressiveness and cravings for sex. But the power of this hormone begins to deteriorate after age 24. - I want to try B5 again but I'm afraid of Hairloss and Insomnia!

When I tried B5 a couple months ago, I got some insomnia. Now I wasnt sure if it was the B5 or not causing the insomnia because I started taking Propecia for thinning hair at about the same time. I stopped the B5. I think my sleep patterns have improved somewhat, but it could be that I'm adjusting to the Propecia and could have nothing to dow ith stopping the B5 (i.e. the Propecia was causing the insomnia, not the B5). I want to try B5 again but I'm scared. Not only do I not want the insomnia...

21? Too old? Gee, try 38. :) Accutane works for some but doesn't work for others. The side effects can be intolerable. It was for me. I would never recommend it at all. Personally, I can control my acne with diet changes. Now my skin is clear and I'm healthier to boot. Take care, ar

Everybody is different. Many people don't get worse. If it's a big issue for you, then ask to get put on a dose that is raised over the first month, that'll introduce you slowly and lessen the chance of any bad breakouts. Not a bit. Like I said, healing is the issue. Normal tatoos are done healing. No they aren't common at all. If you got a nosebleed it would be a mild one
- Biotin to the rescue
- Posted on 07-23-2003 | 3 Comments
After reading an article in the Miami Herald about the importance of biotin in carb and fat metabolism, I decided to add it to my vitamin regimen. I have taken 3 g of pantothenic acid for 8 years, and it really has not been working for the last year. After adding 1mg biotin twice daily, my oil production has decreased dramatically, comparable to when I eat carb-free. If anyone else is having decreased results from p acid after a while, give biotin a shot. It is pretty cheap at Vitamin Shoppe...
- B5: Does it cause hairloss?
- Posted on 07-10-2003 | 1 Comments
uh oh. Thats one thing I CANNOT risk, as I am already thinning somewhat. Some of the reviews I'm reading online show hairloss as a side effect. Is this true or mainly hype/placebo? (i.e. the hair would have been lost anyway)
