- ACCUTANE SIDE EFFECT QUESTION, CAN YOU PEOPLE ANSWER?
- Posted by Dear MrPoliceman
How do you prevent the Accutane side effect of thinning hair? Like what's the
best thing to take or use to prevent this? And it's ok to get highlights while
on Accutane right? Thanks

I don't take Accutane and know nothing about it, so I can't help you
any. Sorry.

Is that a temporary side effect? In other words, does the lost hair grow
back after treatment ends? If so, maybe it's time to invest in some hats.

i've been on accutane 6 weeks now and not noticed any hair thinning...
my hairs always been really thick and it's also very dark... i've not
had any problems bleaching my hair either - make sure u use a good
protien pack on it regularly tho - noticed the accutane has 'dried' is
slightly... also keep any chemical AWAY from ur scalp cause that would
really burn!

On my first Accutane course I didn't notice any hair thinning. Now, two
months into my second course I haven't noticed hair thinning either.
According to what I've heard and what my derm told me it's a) rare, b)
temporary. The only thing is that one can get like dry spots on the scalp (I
also have some dry spots on my arms), but that doesn't alarm me.
I wonder if the OP has experienced the hair loss or just thinks that he will
experience every side effect known with the drug, even though most are just
very rare.
Hehehe :-D
Greetz,
*tada!*

No the OP just likes to try to cross the bridge before they get to it
I didn't experience hair-thinning either...
