After Carlos Ghosn got involved with Nissan, they have been making

Hopefully, they'll keep going after he goes back to Renault in 2005.

Not utter madness at all, but the perfectly reasonable behavior of an
inveterate AF'er who knows a good thing when she sees it!!

Looking forward to Fall (as I always do in the dog days of summer),
and stopping by the mall yesterday (conveniently located mid-way
between HQ and the plant I visit once a week), I purchased the
following:

Izod "silky poplin" button-down shirt in a medium mustard yellow
(reg. $37.50, but marked down to $9.99)
Claiborne silk tie in simple stripes, one of which exactly matches the
shirt above, and the other stripes autumnal shades of brown and rust
(reg. $39.50, but marked down to $12.50)
3 Perry Ellis textured cotton-modal rayon mock t-necks in zinc (a
metallic, but not lustrous gray), mistletoe (which hopefully will work
its magic on my wife the first time I wear it!), and bayou (a deep
slate blue)
(reg. $39.50 each, but marked down to $9.99)
2 pairs of Perry Ellis "soft touch" dress socks in light pastel
shades, one green and the other blue
(reg. $10.00 each, but marked down to $3.33 each)
PRL cotton socks (with logo) in off-white
(reg. $10.00, but marked down to $3.33)

The above, plus a bite to eat, made for a very satisfying lunch hour!!

What are they, Laura? I've never heard of them.

So far all the ones I have are from Nordstrom. The eBay one is the first
I've bought anyplace else. I don't have it yet, but from the description
it is brand new. I really wanted it so I bid fairly close to retail, and
with the shipping charge, it's going to cost me around $50, about the
same as if I bought it at Nordstrom and didn't have to pay tax (I think
they're $52 there, or maybe $54). So I didn't really save much, but I
got a new one in a design I hadn't seen before so I'm happy.

Definitely check eBay, there were 12 or 13 of them on there as recently
as yesterday, all different styles and designs, and some were going for
much less than regular price.

Now, I hadn't thought to order from the website, for some reason. But
it's a good idea. Or maybe it's a bad idea. Oh, man I'm looking at it
right now, so many tops, so cool, uh-oh, this could get expensive...

the online shopping cart.

Fortunately, I caught the lemming before it completed the order, and
managed to extract all but 3 Glimas from the shopping cart. I probably
should have taken them all out and not been impulsive, but they had a
movie-themed one, I HAD to have that, and then there was a nice blue one
with a pretty pattern and long sleeves, and I don't have any with long
sleeves, and then this dark red-colored one, and I don't have a dark red
one, and...

Utter madness.

-black lug-heel sandals with 3" platforms
-3 lunchbags & knapsacks for children - the lunchbag-box things are for the
most part larger than the knapsacks - what gives with that -
-two nightgowns for my mother - one pale blue, one lavender

My teeth still hurt today so I bought more stuff.

- NARS Lip Lacquer in Hellfire - this is all AJ's fault for making me look at
the Sephora catalog again
- UD Cream eyeshadow in Dazed - this one I'm blaming on Heather Kleinman,
because a review in one of her recent newsletters said this was good stuff
- Sephora Makeup Eraser pen, just because
- Covergirl Cheekers blush in Snow Plum, because I needed a really pale pink
blush and this was the best my drugstore could do
- Maybelline Expert Eyes shadow duo in Cable Knit, from the new color story that
I can't remember the name of - this has a shimmery pale rosy neutral similar to
UD Sin, and a shimmery dark mink brown
- some no-name retractable lip brush
- September InStyle with Salma Hayek on the cover

Went to Best Buy and bought three DVDs (in one case, a set).

ObFash: One of them was "The Simpsons, Volume 3." Marge Simpson has
such fashionable bright blue hair... matches Bart's sneakers
perfectly! <grin/duck>

around to various shopping centers and bought lots and lots of good stuff.

I had a £10 voucher for Tesco's Cherokee range, could find much I liked, but
did manage to pick out a long denim skirt and a T-Shirt for my boyfriend.

Any UK AFers out there who could use a £5 off when you spend £20 on Cherokee
clothing at Tesco, please email me your address and I'll pop one in the post
(I have three available) - they need to be used by the 7th Sept though.

I've gone berserk with hair care products this lately. I have
revised my "Curly Girl" strategy after what I deemed a failed 3 day
experiment with over a month ago, when I put the book on my "misses" list
for June or July. I've determined that using the right styling products is
critical in my case and I've been able to follow "Curly Girl" for three
weeks now, with desirable results.

At Nordies:
a sheer, long rectangular scarf in a very Pucci-esque pattern (assumed it
was Pucci before the SA removed it from the case for me). The
main colors are white, purple, green and black.

At NM:
A silver Hermes scarf ring that called my name while I was perusing the
scarfs (didn't but any scarfs, none of which begged me to buy it).

At Seventeen Studio Spa in Plano:
I was amazed to find that they're carrying Lorraine Massey's (author of
"Curly Girl") products and I bought a large bottle of the No Poo shampoo
and the smaller, 12 oz bottle of her Conditioner One. I'll review these
once I've used them.

Bumble & Bumble Styling Cream. This is a late lemming item for me and
at the time that I was keeping my hair short, the descriptions on AF
had no particular appeal for me. Now that I'm growing my hair out curly,
I'm googling posts indicating that this is worth a shot.

I've fallen prey to the corduroy trend this season! Ended up getting myself
a pair of brown corduroys at the Gap. They are running a promotion where
you'll receive $10 off a $50 purchase if you just try on either a pair of
cords or jeans.

Even after multiple pairs of Sevens, Mavis, and the like, I still have to
say that Gap jeans still fit me the best. This particular style were the
low-rise boot cuts. The SA also threw in a CD with recordings by Missy
Elliot and Madonna.

I also headed over to Banana Republic to see if they got in the textured
wool blazer to match the dress that I bought online last week. Although I
know there are some major fans of this jacket here (waves to Laurie0512!),
this was NOT flattering on me. I think it's probably because I am
long-waisted. The jacket was boxy and did not fall on my shoulders
properly. It looked cheap and certainly not worth the nearly $200 price. I
normally wear a 2 regular, but even the 0 was a little too big and just
looked awkward over the dress. I've decided that pairing the dress with a
black cashmere cardigan is more my style and much more flattering.

On the other hand, I picked up a few of the leather and fabric flowers, and
they will go absolutely terrific with the dress, as well as on any blazer.
I agree with Laurie--the "black" leather looked more like navy, so I passed
on that one.

I am positively elated that I bought the dress online, and at a discount. I
just jumped over there and according to their site, the dress is cream is
*permanently* out of stock.

Sorry to hear the jacket didn't work well for you. I think it fits me
well (unlike most suit jackets, even petite) is because the length is
shorter than most jackets out there (ones I've tried anyway). I've never
had a suit jacket fit me better than this one and it was definitely princess
cut on me (with a cinched waist and slight flare, not boxy at all.

So if you're petite, though not necessarily short-waisted since I'm neither
long nor short-waisted), check the jacket out. If you're not, maybe you
shouldn't get your hopes up (that means you, Cary)! I guess if one is
short-waisted, but not petite, the jacket might work too.

I'm just glad to know that all of the black leather flowers were odd
looking, and that I didn't get a bad one in the mail! I'm disappointed the
other black magnolia flower is out of stock on the site. Perhaps I'll just
make my own flower pin.

Definitely! Thanks again for the heads up on that great online code!

I'm very interested to know what you think of these, Stacy. Are there various
conditioners? Like Conditioner Two and Three, etc? Just wondering if it's a
scale depending on which might be the most moisturizing. Also how does the No
Poo shampoo smell? Does this salon in Plano also carry gels with no silicones?

I've just placed a WTF order for Blue sea pebbles on sale at 50% off. My
