I have tried, and would definitely not recommend, the Sheer Blonde shampoo and
conditioner. The shampoo was too drying and left my wet hair knotty, and the
conditioner didn't help that situation. The conditioner is loaded with
silicones which didn't moisturize and left my hair feeling somewhat gummy even
after many rinses, and it was more tangley than usual after drying. The next
shampoo (with another product) still left some residue from the conditioner. I
ended up having to use a clarifying shampoo (Joico Resolve) to get all the
residue out.

Hair type may have something to do with the drying effects of the shampoo. I
have thick, very long and wavy hair that tends to be nautrally dry, and don't
have much luck with drugstore shampoos. This one was no exception. Drugstore
conditioners usually don't moisturize enough for my hair, but I've never had
*any* conditioner leave my hair feeling so gummy like the Sheer Blonde did.

But I do like and recommend some of their other products:

Ocean Waves sea spray: Worked great, I just spray it on and twist hair into
ropes. Once dry, untwist the ropes and finger-comb for waves that look like
you spent a day at the beach.

Dream Cream: Love this stuff! It works smoothed on damp hair before drying or
on dry hair to moisturize dry ends. I like this much better than similar
products tried, even when smoothed onto dry hair it really does seem to add
moisture rather than just adding a layer of grease like other products.

Gold Rush Gel: I hate all hair gels, except this one. The texture of this is
really not like a traditional gel at all, it's more creamy and doesn't dry
stiff or crunchy. The texture is like Dream Cream, only lighter. It also
contains *lots* of gold shimmer, this doesn't show up much indoors but outside
in the sun your hair will absolutely sparkle.

John Frieda makes my favorite hair care line. I have light brown hair, but I
agree that the "blonde" products would be great for anyone. He's missing out
on a wide audience by putting "blonde" on the products.
I love Ocean Waves, the highlighter, Dream Cream (put it in at night, comb it
through for overnight conditioning.)
But my two favorites are Secret Weapon (the label says to use it on dry hair,
but I use it on wet then blow dry.), and my can't-ever-be-without-it
"Spotlight" glosser and detangler. This, used on damp hair which is then blow
dried, makes my hair so smooth and soft and shiny, it's really wonderful.
Silicon based, I suppose, but never oily looking.
I'm always looking for the next Frieda product to hit the shelves because he
just makes such great and fun products.
