I have to say that for me, most often salon products do seem to give me
better results. Maybe it's my hair type or my product preference....but I've
wasted alot more money on drugstore brands than on "salon".
Salon shampoos and conditioners seem to be thicker in consistency, I use
less, and even when I'm down to the last 1/4....I add water to use it up.
And the product still works great. Smells great, etc.
But drugstore brands? I'll use maybe half then throw it away cuz I'm not
happy with it. The only exception would be Suave. For some reason Suave
shampoo (not conditioner) is fine.
I've been happy with a few styling products from the drugstore.....some of
L'Oreal's Studio line. But most often when I buy a hair product from, say,
Target....it will be Tigi or Rusk or Redken.
But that's me. I've read articles over and over that say they all have
similar ingredients....but there's certainly 'something' different about
them. (besides the price)

i find salon products to be better consistently. i think most or all salon
products i have used have been good. but drugstore products can go either way.
some really suck like the dove shampoos , but some are ok like suave.

Same here! I generally don't even bother with drugstore hair care
anymore, though every now and again, I'll find something good (I really
liked that Fructis Smoothing Milk I found in Canada, but sadly the
Fructis styling line hasn't made it to the States yet, and I find the
shampoo simply awful). I tend to use mostly Bumble & Bumble, and a few
things from Paul Mitchell, TiGi, and Alterna, the majority of the time
(at least lately).
