Although I am a professional, tons of our clients mix colors (we have a home
use color product)......a safe bet is to stay with the same line, product
and base tone.....if you do that it should work fine.......if you mix a gold
base with an ash base you can get a funny color but staying with the same
base is pretty safe.....also doing the strand test can really tell a lot
about home color.......adjusting things like the timing and doing just the
new growth are fine as well.......we recommend using subtle changes to see
what the outcome is but you can always work to fine tune a color.......it is
the way they do it in the salon.......also keeping a record of what you did,
how long you left it, etc can help to get the color perfect as
well........many colors that say they only last for six weeks can last much
longer and even become permanent if the applications are done on a regular
basis......I hope some of this helps.......
