My gripe w. black suits isn't that. I happen to believe that regardless of how
monumentally flattering they are to the wearer, irrespective of how easily it
weakens the decorum of women within a 3 mile radius, no matter how many
compliments it garners the suitee...black suits are simply not, in my view,
appropriate in the vast majority of suit wearing circumstances.
Of course, Black Apparel has a sizeable, ardent cadre of adherents and as such
they will hold fast to that notion that Black Apparel is right and good always
and everywhere.
So be it. I will not, as the old doo-wop standard went, stand in your way. I
will simply go off to my corner, stand on a soapbox and proclaim the marvels of
being a fashion reactionary.
