Need recs for shampoo+conditioner
Posted by Barbara O'Neill

My hubby had been using [the now defunct] Style Plus Shampoo+Conditioner, but since they are no longer available (unless some AFer knows where I can get/order it) has been trying new ones with the end result being that he's broken out in a rash from the Dove 2-in-1 and the Pantene 2-in-1. I bought him a bottle of Pert 2-in-1 but he hasn't had a chance to use that one, yet.

Anyone have drugstore *or* Salon product suggestions?

Thanks,
Barbara

loudly and vomited the words:

i don't recommend 2-in-1 type products. what is your husband
looking for in a shampoo/conditioner? is he looking for
something that's moisturizing and/or leaves the hair soft? is he
looking for protein shampoos/conditioners? give me an idea of
what he's looking for, and i'll give you some suggestions.

personally, i vaccilate (sic?) between Redken's Color Extend
Shampoo and Conditioner, Redken's All Soft Shampoo, and Redken's
CAT Shampoo. at times i also use ARTec's Kiwi Shampoo and follow
it up with ARTec's Red Clover Color Depositing Shampoo and
Conditioner.

Thanks for the suggestions. While I don't use 2-in-1 products, some old
habits are hard to break. Since we've been together I've managed to change
some of them (getting him to my stylist for regular trims/cuts), others will
take time.

One has to pick their battles and right now, unless it affects his health
[he has to have some pre-cancerous growths removed and right now that is the
*only* thing on my mind] , I'm not going to get after him to change his hair
care routine. Down the line I'll see if I can get him to try the products I
use, which are ususally Biolage, Redkin, Paul Mitchell or Nexxus.

Thanks again,
Barbara

I've been very happy with hair products from John Masters, who has a
zinc and sage conditioning shampoo. I haven't tried that shampoo, but
it got some very positive reviews on Makeup Alley, as I recall. If
you google for John Masters, you'll find the website, which sells the
products at a 15% discount.
