- How soon have you redone home hair color?
- Posted by pearl
Does anyone here have any experience with coloring your hair at home, and
redoing your color shortly after having done it before? How long did you
wait to redo it, and how did your hair react?
I did my hair last night with L'Oreal Excellence and it wasn't quite the
shade I was hoping for. The color came out right -- it matches the shade
on the box -- I just don't like how it looks on me. So I'm trying to
figure out when I should try another shade again. Their website says you
can try coloring again as soon as 24 hrs after the initial color,
depending on the condition of your hair, and it also cautions that too
much coloring can give unplanned or not so good results. At worst, I
figure I'll wait 4-6 weeks & instead of touching up, changing colors. I
was just wondering what your experiences were.
TIA

EVERYONE advises that you should NOT color again too soon.........................
i have made some AWFUL mistakes with color change, and have re-dyed my hair within an hour, and then an hour later, dyed
it again.........................................(alw ays using L'Oreal preference products)
this requires, a whole lot of CONDITIONING....................................bu t i really sustained no damage.
my hair is short and blonde (most of the time)

waiting really serves no purpose unless your scalp is sensitive......hair
cannot heal so waiting serves no purpose if you are set on coloring
again.....sometimes waiting allows color to change a little and can become
more pleasing after it fades some.......remember that dyes are not made to
lighten dyes so it lighter is something you are after a remover may be
better than just trying to color again....hope this helps
