- What I Bought Today
- Posted by HotWxDripN
My plan was to run out on my lunch hour and buy some toothpaste, but instead of
going straight to the checkout counter, I sashayed over to cosmetics
(surprise!) and left with 3 more Loreal Glam Shines. I bought Starlet and
Seductress 2 weeks ago, and loved them. Today, I added Princess, Muse, and
Diva to my collection. I normally stick to high-end stuff because I'm usually
disappointed with the drugstore stuff once I get home and try it on properly,
but these are great. I also bought Lucky and Shape.

I found a brand new picnic backpack. Oddly enough, it is the EXACT one that
Oprah had on her show yesterday. (My Favorite Spring Things Show). It was at a
garage sale and brand new. The lady wanted $20, I offered $10, she took $15.
Hee hee, it's for sale online for $85.

At the Dollar Store,
Trilby, there were Rimmel mascaras, makeup brushes and foundations, but no
Rimmel lipsticks to be found.
So I had to content myself with:
OO nail lacquer in Autumn Red, Almay Stay Smooth Lipcolor in Dawn and Revlon
Colorstay Lip Tint in Caramel, all of which came to $4.
Also found some drawstring black linen capris/crop pants on sale for $28.

A plane ticket to visit home the end of August, just in time for the first
football game of the season! Yay! (I can hardly wait.)

Bought myself a Juicy Tube in the shade Firecracker. Saw on the website that
it was advertised as a "tube of the month". I'm such a sucker for gimmicks.
(It is awfully pretty though.)

You will not regret this. I have a pair of trousers and a shirt
in this fabric. Absolutely fabulous and launders like a dream.

Feeling a little better today <sniff, cough, wheeze> so I decided to take my
germs shopping. (I swear to Bob I did not share my germs with anyone. I am a
good little citizen of the empire.)
Ross:
- Tommy Hilfiger jeans, with a low rise and moderately straight legs, nicely
faded with no flaws I could see, for $19.99.
- very cute dress by Ronni Nicole (love this brand!). It's knee-length, black,
sleeveless, A-line with a polo-style collar and a silvertone zipper at the neck,
made out of some sporty pique knit with "racing stripes" in black and white down
each side from underarm to hem. On clearance for $16.99.
- very cute dark navy pantsuit by Courtenay, on clearance for $13.99. The pants
zip in the back and are *slightly* tapered. The top is sleeveless and collarless
(so it looks a bit vest-like) in a wrap style and fastens at one side with a
little self-strap and d-ring closure. No idea where I'll wear this, but for $14
I couldn't *not* get it!
- Candy Rain baseball-style shirt with grey torso, black 3/4 sleeves, black trim
at neck, and a big scrolly letter "K" embroidered, Laverne-style, in black over
the left chest area. They only had Ks, Js and Is so I lucked out! On clearance
for $5.99.
Ulta:
- repurchase of Seche Vite
- repurchase of Creative Nail Design Stickey base coat
WalMart:
- navy sandals with a chunky 2" heel and a criss-cross, wide elastic band design
(to wear with the pantsuit, though I'd like to find some nice navy slingbacks
for it too)
- really cute black flip-flops by Hanes with wide fabric straps. The bottoms
look like sneaker bottoms (thick white rubber w/black stripes and a reinforced
toe). These will go great with the black dress above!
- Bonne Bell Dr. Pepper lipsmacker
- assorted hangers

At Bath & Body Works - a peach shower gel, on sale half price.
At The Body Shop - several shower gels, some on sale for as low as $4. Others
were 2/$20.
At Neiman Marcus - a Definicils mascara.
At Nordstrom - a Philosophy Little Black Book in the basics.
At the Sanrio store - some Hello Kitty stuff for my daughter.
Didn't find the exact Converse All Stars my daughter wanted, so we'll try again
at a different mall.

The holiday-induced moratorium is over! Yay! At Target:
- Linden Hill long tencel cargo skirt w/drawstring in a denim shade. I think
this is Tarjay's new J Jill knockoff stuff. Very nice! This was only $20 so the
price alone is waaaaaay better than J Jill! I just hope it doesn't fall apart
the first time I wash it.
- CoverGirl TruBlend foundation in Ivory. They had the full sizes of the new
L'Oreal stuff, but no testers and nothing lighter than level 3 (or darker than
level 6). What's up with that?! The L'Oreal site lists 8 different levels!
- Sonia Kashuk Lip Sheer in Intrigue.
- dangly silver earrings featuring small hoops with thin chains hanging off them.

From Longs:
*Max Factor Lipfinity Everlites in Tender - a subtle pink. Wow, I think
this might be a winner! It feels pretty moisturizing (though I only tried
it on for a few minutes before I had to remove it along with the rest of my
makeup) and it's not thick and heavy like the original Lipfinity. Plus this
is actually a good shade, unlike any of the old Lipfinity colors, IMO.
*Revlon Colorstay polish in Perpetual Pink Crystals (one of the new shades)
- finally found this (though I hadn't searched for it since perhaps a month
ago). It's a very pretty sheer medium pink with microglitter.
I still haven't found the new Cover Girl foundation!

Covergirl pink snow on my finger nails and Cutex mango on my toes. I wear
the colours that I don't really like anymore on my toes just to try and
use it up.

At TJ Maxx, where almost the entire store was on clearance and almost the entire
inventory was crap:
- VS Sport (?) black velvet l/s tunic with mandarin collar and frog closures all
the way down, on clearance for $12.
- Sioni sheer silk wrap top, very floaty and filmy with sort of drapey long
sleeves, the left half front, left sleeve and back are black, the right half
front and right sleeve are black with a large but muted floral print. Also on
clearance for $12.
- Cocktail Bar Dirty Martini soap - alas, it's a gin martini and not a vodka
martini, but you can't have everything. I have a Cosmic Cosmopolitan soap from
this line too - love the packaging! This will sit on my guest bathroom shelf
looking purty.

Haha! That was my experience too, when I was there a couple nights ago. I did
find a warm red pashmina Kenneth Cole scarf clearanced to $7 but that was the
only good buy. I wish the soaps and body products at my TJ's weren't always so
trashed.
If anyone's looking, they had tons of the jelly Kelly style bags (I think Besso
was the brand?)...some of the colors were good for winter (like a dark green)
but I just don't see how I'd ever keep a bag like that clean, and I prefer a
shoulder strap anyway.

I bought a cute, funky clutch today! Here's the link:

It's the Le Grande Damme Josephine; satin with magenta-ish detail and
the cutest little bow wrist cuff.

Victorias Secret:
- Bright light blue floor-length thick velvety terrycloth robe. I've pined
for one of these for years! On sale for just $29, down from $78.
Was it just me, or was their semi-annual sale this year far worse than
usual? Maybe it is the June one that is good? I was incredibly
disappointed this year (except my robe, of course).
American Eagle:
- Grey flouncy wool miniskirt. I bought the plaid one of these a few months
ago, and adore it. This one is more versatile and was half off!
Limited:
Burnt orange vneck sweater (also half off)
I saved more than I spent!
