Are there any opinions on the best shoe cleaner/polish for leather shoes?
Also, is there an all-color shoe polish?
I just remember my dad having the black kiwi polish, a brush, and a cloth in
a plastic bag. I used to love the smell when he was polishing his shoes
(which seemed like every day.

I "collect" leather care products from a bunch of different places,
including Walmart, DSW (Discount Shoe Warehouse) and various shoe stores.
Really, the best way to keep shoes looking nice is to treat them with
waterproofing products *before* they are used for the first time, and then
keep them wiped clean after they've been exposed to moisture and dirt.
Clean and re-treat with waterproofing products periodically.
There are a number of colorless liquid and spray "wax" products though I
don't think they do as good a job as the stuff your dad was probably
using--and the elbow grease he added to the mix.
Don't forget to take care of your leather coats and purses the same way you
take care of shoes and boots.

I used to use Fiebing's saddle soap as a cleaner, but switched to the
Lexol cleaner after it was introduced because it is Ph neutral. I
would recommend you stay away from wax polish such as kiwi---wax
doesn't allow the leather to breathe---and use Meltonian shoe cream
instead. There are many colors and one of them is Neutral. Go easy on
the waterproofing as petroleum distillates harm leather.
Good luck. When it comes to leather care most people develop methods
they practice with religious ferver, and which they will swear are
better than all the others.

Leatherique.
If it's good enough to restore the leather on gigabuck Ferraris, Aston Martins,
etc., it's good enough for damned near anything else.

Ah, but an automobile is merely a car, whereas a horse is a mount. And
according to Horse Journal, when it comes to caring for saddles,
bridles, etc., Lexol is the conditioner of choice. "It is not greasy,
conditions well, and leaves leather supple with an attractive soft
shine."

oh,
I don't think much of Lexol, and it's smelly!
