I think Units was a free standing store and Multiples was a display in regular
department stores, but basically the same idea.

I had a black Multiples jumpsuit and I saved it too! Mine is
different--wide legs and wide arms. Lovely drapey material. It is
now part of my very glamorous loungewear wardrobe! :-)

(I remember shopping for it, too--everything in the Multiples store
was displayed in these modular wire cube thingies, very mimimalist.
It brings to mind the Conran's that was next door and also very big at
the time. Ah, the eighties... )
