II'm heading to Paris for a holiday soon, and wanted to know how much
Herve Chapelier bags and Longchamps ones are there. I'm interested in
an HC backpack and medium tote, and a mid-sized Longchamps nylon tote.
Are they much cheaper than in the US?

Also, what other brands should I be on the lookout for when shopping
in Paris?

Emmanuelle Zysman makes beautiful bags - she has a store on the rue des
Martyrs in the Montmartre area. You should just go to the Printemps
department store and the Galeries Lafayette for an overview of French brands
and if you like one in particular, find out if that designer has a boutique.

Another fantastic shopping area is around the rue Etienne Marcel (2nd
arrondissement) filled with boutiques, including Paul & Joe, and funky
shops. And do venture into the Bastille area for more boutiques.
