Re: Brownie recipe
Posted on 07-08-2003 | 1 Comments

<< So...did anyone make these? How'd they turn out? Two ounces doesn't seem like a lot of chocolate, but my recipes that call for more never turn out quite right, so I'm willing to try a yummy less-chocolatey version. i thought they were wonderful...did substitute semisweet for unsweetened chocolate, because that was what was on hand. And I had no complaints, other than the entire pan was gone in a flash, thanks to some very appreciative friends;) Thanks so much for sharing this...

Discounted Hard Candy at Nordstrom
Posted on 07-08-2003 | 1 Comments

If anyone is a Hard Candy fan, I was at Nordstrom this weekend (Providence) and all the Hard Candy line was marked down for clearance. The sales associate said that it was no longer going to be in the store and that she believed the line was going out of business. Just an FYI to stock up if you have particular favorites! I bought a couple of the single eye shadows for $10 each.

Re: How can I improve my skin's texture?

I think the sunscreen you were using may have Parsol in it also known as avobenzone. I may be mistaken about this though so please bear with me. If it does have parsol this could be what is irritating you. Please check the label again as I'm not sure if it actually contains this ingredient.

lots of loreal stuff. shock proof, ripe plum blush quick sticks, lipsticks packaged with crayon petite lip pencils, wear infinite' quads, automatic lip liners, and liner intensifique, and the older version of the same, super liner. i picked up the eye liners in bronze dust (kind of a silvery forest green), sapphire blue, and lovey dovey (taupey-purple), and the auto lip liner in chestnut, which is a staple for me. -- robyn

Brooklyn stylist needed
Posted on 07-07-2003 | 1 Comments

I need a haircut bad. Real bad. The last guy I went to butchered me. I've got thick, wavy hair, so recommendations from people with the like would be appreciated. Ideally, I'd like to find someone in Brooklyn (Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights area). More ideally, I'd like to not spend more than $100. Reward of one pound of Monteleone's pignoli cookies to anyone whose suggestion leads to a great cut.

Re: Does anyone remember Units?

I'm sorry to say I do remember units. They also had leggings, knit pants, tube skirts, t-shirts and tunics. I actually owned and wore some of these. I was young, it was the 80s. I think I've destroyed all the photographs. I know I threw away the clothes. But nothing seems to erase the memories. Cassidy to e-mail, remove the bustible

The prettiest neutral shadow!

At the makeup artists convention in Pasadena a couple of weeks ago, I was introduced to the Paint brand of cosmetics. I was sort of overwhelmed by the selection at the show, but I did buy two of their eye shadows (and was really disappointed that two others were sold out). The two I got were Rain and Silhouette. On their website (www.paintcosmetiques.com -- note the spelling), Rain appears as lavender but in fact it is a sort of canvas color, definitely a beigy color, not at all purple. It...

Gross but is there any way to get rid of corns?
Posted on 07-07-2003 | 1 Comments

I think they're corns atleast. They're not hard, they're soft, but are round just like corns. I have no idea how to get rid of these suckers! I tried using the Dr Scholl pads for about one day and it seems like it made them puffier. Any advice appreciated!

Anyone know of any good makeup courses given in NYC?
Posted on 07-07-2003 | 2 Comments

I really want to take some makeup courses as I've been wanting to for awhile. I figured since it's summer and I'm out of school it's the perfect time to look into it. Does anyone know of any given in NYC, or where I can find further info on this? Thanks so much!

Dallas area salons?
Posted on 07-07-2003 | 1 Comments

Hi all - long time no post! :) ONCE AGAIN, I am on a quest to find a GREAT hair stylist in the Dallas area. Specifically, Plano. I read about a salon a year or two ago in the Dallas area that was run by a guy from England, but for the life of me, I can't recall the name of it, or precisely where it's located. Can anyone help? OR...can anyone recommend a really wonderful stylist who *really* knows their stuff, and can take hair texture, face shape, etc. into consideration before cutting!

Re: Does anyone remember Units?

I loved them. There were 2 brands. Units and...something at Macy's. I am drawing a blank. I had this "cute" white jumpsuit with some colored bands for a belt. Theoretically you could have worn the bands for a tube tob or skirt. However...even in junior high I was too busty for a tube top like that. NYC Upper West Side shopping
Posted on 07-07-2003 | 2 Comments

I'm going to NY in a couple of weeks with some friends and we'll probably be staying on the upper west side - anyone ever been to or heard about the Excelsior Hotel (it's across the street from the Natural History Museum)? Any interesting shopping in this neighborhood? Clothes, cosmetics, and house accessories would be our main interests. Thanks! We're looking forward to a fun trip. petunia
